Not kind of bully, but oh my! I love his coloration (and muscles!). It looks like a really light brindle. What would you call that? :)

basically from the pic its hard to see but if you were to see him in person you could see brindle markings with a blue tint..one of the prettier color patterns IMO

Not at all diluted. That was taken on a bright day in early spring, with a point and shoot that's not great.

The coat is blue, the brindle is reddish.

oh, ok. Its that why some call it "reverse brindle"? Instead of the darker color being the striping, in blue brindles its the lighter colors that are the stripes.

I think reverse brindle is also a misnomer. The dog has a base color and a striping color.

This is how the ADBA describes brindle:
Brindle- A striped pattern of brown with black hairs over lighter colored coat or a striped pattern of lighter colored hairs over a darker colored coat. Please list underlying coat color first, then brindle.

There is no "reverse",just dark over light or light over dark.

how do you determine which is which?

Percentage of color. The greater percentage would be considered the underlying color and the lesser the brindle.

I don't know if there is a perfect interpretation or way to determine one.
