I have the West Paw Zogoflex toys for Rhys and they seem to be lasting well! I have the Huck, Hurley, and the Zisc and they last well up against him chewing them. I also got and Orbee glow in teh dark ball he LOVES and hasnt destroyed yet.

  3. Our boomer balls arrived. I ordered three...I think the 4", 6" and 10". I didn't think kajun would be interested since he wouldn't be able to carry them around or destroy them. But, he loves the biggest one. He pushes it around the yard with his mouth. It's very durable, but he caused quite a few deep scratches in it, which cut up his lip. Other than that, it seems to be a good toy that keeps him entertained and wears him out. It's still funny to watch him run laps around the house while pushing the ball along. Very cute!

I leave a couple of heavy duty nylabone type things in Puck's crate and sometimes a marrow bone which I can also fill with a bit of frozen cream cheese or peanut butter (though I try to limit his junk food just to keep potty training on schedule).

Other than that he doesn't have toys lying around and outside play is on spring pole with a really thick and tight rope toy and a flirt pole which has a little furry bit of rabbit poof on the end. Random toys for throwing, usually tennis balls until his adult teeth come in or orbees.

If he's playing in the house while I watch him I have giant stuffed animals (thank you previous tenants with kids!) in the kitchen that he pulls around with him but can't shred.

I just ordered the 10" and 6" but they didn't give me a price for the shipping. I hope it isn't alot to ship. I can't wait to get them as the jolly balls are great but don't last long.

I spent the $30 and bought a Goughnut when I first got Sug. She loved it for all of an hour, and it's been setting there ever since. She won't have anything to do with it anymore. Of course, she'd hate the expensive toy.

Jessie loves all things Kong, including her Wubba, but she rips them up if left with them for too long. She also loves the stuffed Kong as a nice treat. One product I haven't seen mentioned is the Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Football.

She has had this for 5 months and it has no signs of damage. When she chews on it, it bounces right back into shape. Its hollow so we can stuff it with snacks, and she can fetch it like its a tennis ball. It was $14.95 when I ordered it through Amazon.

She also has the West Paw Zogoflex Huck. She loves the way it bounces when we throw it, due to its odd shape. But it is a little heavy for her. It also has no signs of damage from chewing. It was 10.99 and sold through Amazon via Puplife. The shipping and handling was 7.51.

Thanks! there are some really great ideas here. Cooper is an industrial chewer! He chewed up one of those firehose toys in 20 minutes. Even our kongs are really beat up. I recently got him a deer antler which is holding up pretty well (we've had it for 4 days, and it is holding strong). So I am tentatively stating that it is 'Coop Worthy' which is what we call toys that last more than a day or two. We do have some interactive toys that just come down to play and then are put away, but anything that he has access to succombs to his jaws quickly. It's hard not to buy toys for him though because he gets sooooooo excited when presented with a new one. I just ordered a Gough Nut and will report back on how that holds up and whether or not it can be pronounced 'Coop Worthy'.

Boomer balls came today! River LOVES them. She pushes and dribbles it around and can't bite into it. Great workout for her. :D

Around our house, tires are a staple, along with nylabones, boomer balls, logs, bags and bags of soccer balls {I've got a friend with a brother that works at a sports store so we get all the cast aways! lol} boat rope, kongs, kong balls.. that's about all that holds up here and they don't REALLY hold up either!

So far the only tough toy she has liked is her Kong. She would chew on her nylabone every now and then but she really wasn't into it.

When I first got her I bought some tennis balls that were marketed as being good for tough chewers and she destroyed it in no time lol.

I will have to check out some of the other toys posted in this thread.

  14. Personally i use flirt pole, cow horns (haha) & some times KONG...

Def the boomer ball my boy will do anything for that ball its so crazy how crazy he is over the ball LOL. He could be sleeping and look up and see the ball and would take off in a dead sprint for the ball I hang it in the yard and he jumps for hours for it and he pushes it soo much his nose gets all tore up. He actually almost drowned one time from swimming after it in a lake for like 1hr he wouldnt come back I had to act like I was leaving for him to come back to shore. Heres some pics of him jumping for it. And he will literally jump for this ball till he passes out from exhaustion.

A big Kong ball. Has lasted forever and the dogs love it. Rex will bring it to bed with him actually lol. The only problem I have with it is if he drops it while he's sleeping its makes the loudest noise on our floor because of how durable it is!

  17. Boomer Balls get an A+

Glad yours like the boomer balls too! Kajun is still nuts over them and it's been like 2 weeks since we got them. He managed to claw them up pretty good and he pushed in the cork/stopper on the big one, so now he carries it around the yard. I think I'm going to get the HD challenger one, as the rep I talked to assured me that they are even more durable. It's expensive, but so far it is the only toy that he loves and can't destroy.
The goughnut didn't get the same amount of love. He played with it for about an hour and then hasn't touched it since. Oh well, maybe after he gets over the boomer balls, he'll try out the goughnut again.
I highly recommend the boomer balls for any very energetic and highly destructive dog!

I will have to try hanging one. River will go insane if it is swinging from a tree.

I got him a Puppy that sounds, a duck I think it's called quakers, a star. Everything sounds. I got him the Kong/Nylabone for his teething but so far he's ignoring it. I got him yesterday Kong balls with sound for when he bites. So far his favorite is the first one. The dog with sound and then the star which by no does not sound anymore.

I am thinking of getting him the kong for stuffing.

  20. question about the boomer ball what size is recommended? TY
