No the question was that if it was the love of your life (current relationships nonexistent) that you'd never met, would you give up your dog to meet this person.

I don't believe in "The One" and "Soulmates". I believe there is more than one match for any one person.

I met my husband, consider him the love of my life, yadda yadda. But I am equally sure I could have met another man who shared similar traits with my husband and been equally in love and happy.

So, I choose my dog(s) for sure. I might miss out on meeting one man, but I can keep my dog(s) and wait to meet another man who is equally suitable.

Well, even if I was sure this person was my one true soul mate - that doesn't mean it will always stay the same. He could decide to do drugs, gamble, be a lazy shit, get hugely obese and stop taking showers. Or he might turn into an asshole down the line - so my dog. Sadie will always love me and vice versa

I would choose my dog, the love of your life can always change, the person you met 5 minutes ago can be great for 5 minutes and all but then the "shiney new" wears off and they are meh, but a dog is the only thing that can 100% give you unconditional love (that is something my mom said and she is not really even a dog person, so I take that to heart)

I agree that soul mates, "the one" and all of that is just hooey. But for arguments sake let's say this is the best possible fit for you.

If I wasn't married, had never met this man, this was the only opportunity I was going to get to meet him, and would never know about him otherwise-I'd choose my dogs. Why miss out on something I already know I love and fulfills my heart/soul vs. taking a chance on something (that could be equally as fulfilling) and in addition to that feeling sad that I lost my dogs. If I never met the guy, how could he be missed?

Now, if you're asking me about my husband or my dogs-it'd be my husband (at this current point in time-talk to me after he pisses me off-kidding). While I love my dogs very much, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that Austin would never ask me to choose, my dogs are simply lower on the totem pole. Sorry, but that's the reality.

I would choose my dog everytime. My dogs have always been there for me in a way no human ever has been, and I spend way more time with Buddy than anyone else so I could never let him go in exchange to meet this unknown person!!

Let me preempt by saying I love my DH very much, but if he were out of the equation, my dogs def. People are notoriously unreliable.

Thank Fully I Found My "True Love" And He Owns A Pit Bull Also, So I Would Never Have To Chose!
But If It Wasn't Him And I Had To "Find Some One Else", I Would Chose My Dog.. No Questions Asked.

I'd choose my dog. I wouldn't get rid of my girls for anything! (Hence why I'm still single, among other reasons.)

On one hand I don't believe that soul mates truly exist, I've lived my life contently up to this point, dogs never judge me or put me down. Naturally I would choose my dog, they are always there for me. But then I would always wonder and the curiosity would drive me mad knowing that I have turned down this option and will never ever EVER meet my soul mate now.

I own 3 dogs, 4 if you include my boyfriend's dog, and I will assume this deal will only take 1 of them (with my luck it would be Artie, my favorite) but I think I would take the deal. or maybe not.... oh hell I dont know.

Yeah? I mean, I love dogs, I love MY dogs, I will always fight for them. And even though I don't believe in soul mates, the chance for finding a human companion that will always be there for you is something that most people always want. Having dog companions is great, but have a fellow human is better for other things. Also I have never owned a dog that didn't unconditionally love me, if you love any dog and treat it right it will love you back. In the end, it would be the curiosity that would kill me, or rather, one of my dogs. And it's not like they are going out in a bad way, dying peacefully is a hellva lot better than so many other options that are out there.

My dog...I do not believe there is only 1 person out there for you. New people will come into your life and old people will leave. Same with your dog...one day he/she will die. But a dog loves you unconditionally. They do not take their love away to be cruel or teach you a lesson like humans will. Dogs come when you call them...try getting a boyfriend home from the bar when you call them!!!
