All the pittie and pibble comments ...ugh. "Angels with paws" ? Exactly the kind of people I want as far away from these dogs as possible.

This is from their "facts" page: "DNA analysis shows that most “pit bulls” are predominantly made up of other breeds * from Lab to poodle. The term “pit bull” designates an appearance, not a breed."

I also loved on their fact page how they said "No dog is genetically more aggressive" or something like that. Riiiiight. But of course "advocates" never feel it's necessary to add the DA aspect in there... Cause only trained fighting dogs are DA, of course!

why because they love there animals and use adjectives to describe them? There are plenty of ways to educate people on facts without having to insult them for how they chose to describe or love on their dogs. Pretty sure that has jack shit to do with how they are actually training there animals rather your personal opinion :)

Please tell me how that statement itself was an insult??? Fact is if you don't understand what your dog is capable of and insist that everyone owns them because they are easy going dogs that just love, love, love then you are more than likely going to end up with a problem. And unfortunately if you end up responsible for the inury or death of someone else's pet --or worse if you make excuses for HA-- due to sugar coating "pit bulls" then it reflects badly on the whole community.

I've heard it from outsiders all the time that they hate the kind of people who call their dogs "pibbles and "pitties" so its not just the people on this board or even just me lol.

i find it insulting for you to say these people shouldnt be around this breed because they use adjectives. hahahaha get the fuck out of here. its always worst case scenario, "i called my dog a pitty now he is going to maul someone because im using adjectives" and please jesus tell me how if you love your dog you will more than likely end up with a problem. PLEASE explain that in detail. all your "what if" scenarios are just that.

so what if you were educated and fully aware of the possibilities that come with this breed BUT you call your dog a pibble and entertain the cute-er side of the breed? what is that? AN OXYMORON? A UNICORN?

While the use of "Pibble" et al and being well versed in the breed, are not mutually exclusive. The regularity of those well versed in the breed using those terms is minuscule in comparison to those who are all rainbows and butterflies, trying to soften the breeds image.I'm willing to assume that the tone of the post that offended you,was in deference to the well being of the breed, not an attack on the people using the term(s).

well be careful others may think you dont know anything about the breed because you pointed out the fact that it isnt mutually exclusive. My post was simply a light hearted read. That as usual per this forum gets over critical responses, like training and the facts about the breed. Shit just gets old, people need to live a little and stop making comparisons that dont apply.

I understand where you're coming from and the intent of your post.Just something to keep in mind...many of the members of this forum have spent years fighting the misinformation about the breed.Dealing with the repercussions of said misinformation, etc. There are real problems facing the breed.More often than not it seems, the rainbows and butterflies crowd do more harm than good, trying to present the breed as just any dog.Just like everything in life,it's a matter of perspective.

When you post something on a public forum, it's open to interpretation, criticism, etc., by all those who read it. Nobody's knocking you for posting it, they're criticizing the article and source itself. Don't get butthurt that strangers don't like or agree with something you posted, it has nothing to do with you personally.
