i may not know the official definition for it but i know what he is talking about....it is where their backs (right behind their shoulder blades) dip down to far and then the rear raises up to high, its better noticed from a side shot of a dog, a lot of the extreme bullies have them and i hate it when i see them being bred, they are also breeding a lot of them that have real bad easty westy ankles and legs that are real bowed out, to make the chest look bigger. i will try to find a couple of pics of some "bad example" bullies

lol what im saying is that i dont think they are even remotely good looking, and definently not structural sound. If thats your think by all means have at it they need good homes too. I do however like your attitude. You seem like a decent person bully lover or not...just not my cup of tea.

i understand, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and their own likes and dislikes, but i do know a bit about bullies and trust me some of these guys i am posting (IMO) are the better looking ones out there, i have seen WAYYY WORSE which is depressing to say and see, and i will say i am not a fan of the Gotti line bullies AT ALL, most of them are genetic WRECKS!! you couldnt PAY ME to own one. :nono: again its not their fault though, its the people that breed them, but i will tell you i have never seen one that looked like it could be healthy or even run straight. :( in a sec i will post a few more i think look good and a few on the other end of the fence, (you may want to sit down for those, and try not to freak out)

Please understand, I'm looking at this from a vet tech point of view, and not just talking out my ass. I know you weren't making that accusation, but I just wanted to put it out there.
Having that ultra wide chest pushes the front legs out to an unnatural position and puts a ton of strain on elbow joints.
I have some some very structurally sound bullies, no doubt! But it saddens me that they're the exception and NOT the rule. I've also seen bullies so deformed they could barely walk at a year old.

My dog, Hera, was a york/RE dog. It was my own stupidity. The breeder gave all the right answers and I didn't find out until it was too late that her dam had serious temperament issues, but she continued to be bred because she was "pretty".
And that leads me to another HUGE issue I have with most people who are breeding bullies, and dogs they're calling APBT's. Their priorities for breeding are ass backwards! The way the look and their colour comes first, and temperament last...if at all. Temperament should ALWAYS be first! Human aggressive dogs are the reason we're getting slammed with BSL, and that's happening because fad breeders aren't breeding for temperament.

Wow! Sorry I'm getting so long winded =)

I do want to thank you, Mr. Bonez, for being civil, articulate, and willing to discuss instead of turning on the flame fest =)

no problem, and trust me i do understand those bullies with the (way i see it genetic defaults) easty-westys, bowed legs, snouts to short, sway backs, are gonna have health issues and i agree with you 100% on the part about people breeding them just for color/size ect, and not going by a strcit RULE of breeding to follow. I wish those people really did consider the health of the dogs and pups when they do those breedings. And i too have seen the bullies that look like they couldnt run straight for 10 minutes w/o falling over dead :( and it saddens me to also admit i have been to a couple ABKC shows and i dont think they have got their sh*t completly straight yet either b/c i have seen a bully or 2 get 2nd or 3rd place and have a sway back and even droopy eyelids.

and about your female, i am sorry to hear about that but that does not mean all bullies are HA, it is the same case for the APBT if they are not bred correctly and you get them from the wrong breeder, they too can be HA.

Oh, I'm completely aware of that. Like I said it was my fault for not looking into her deeper. Hindsight is always 20/20. Had she been an HA APBT, the outcome would have been the same...meeting with the sharp end of the needle.

This male here is still young, i dont think even a year, so he has yet to loose some puppy weight and gain some muscle "fill out some more"

The next 2 are both ABKC Champion females, the second one i think she was still young in the photo but i also personally think her leg gait is to wide

one of my all time NON favorite bullies........

and this guy is not as bad as some but still....

one of my biggest problems with these bully breeders refering to their dogs as ABPT's especially when they look like this.....APBT's are supposed to be known for their athletic abilities and dogs like this dont even look like they could run to catch a ball.

LOL thats what they are though...LMAO and i bet she can run like the wind! and texas your girl is nice too, although i dont approve of the tow chain, she is a pretty red nose!

that was before she was on my yard. shes on a 1/4 inch chain right now. Anything bigger than 1/4 is over kill imo. everything looks big on her shes just a lil one lol.
