I never really cared for Dobies THAT much i thought some were good looking, but that was about it, most of the Dobermans i've met though have been Show Bred/BYB.. But i've met these 2 working bred Dobies and i absolutely am in love what awesome, fun dogs!! I will try to get pictures next time i see them i went quading with them, and they can run like CRAZY! I hope to meet more cool Dobies in the future!

The female who is my favorite, Is very muscular and sleek, she looks to be roughly 60lbs or so, is that really small for a working bred Dobie?

    I'd love to see pics!!

60lbs is about average. Females are typically between 55-75 when healthy and lean with some even as small as 45. Bonnie's 76, I always wished she would have been smaller, I would love to have a 50lb Dobergirl!

I'd also like to know bloodlines if you get the chance to ask... ;) I'm just really interested in that sort of thing.

See I prefer the bigger Dobes. I wouldn't take one under 70lbs! My girls were all 75lb range and boys were 80-95lbs.

I always like dogs on the smaller end of the standard. I don't mind having a bigger dog,it's just not my preference. (Within the standard of course. I wouldn't waste my money on none of those "kings" and "warlocks" out there.)

All mine were rescues. Zeus's parents were normal size- Mother was around 24", father 27". Zeus was 28.5" and in lean condition 85lbs. Towards the end, he was bigger, but most of the added weight was fatty tumors. We had multiple ones removed, many weighing several pounds each.

I liked Zeus's size/build. He could run all day, never tired, but was never bounce of the walls energy. Very agile and in his prime could clear 6 ft fences w/o touching them and higher fences with pulling himself over. Gunner was a bit taller at 29", but very very weak rear end. He couldn't/wouldn't jump a 3 ft jump, but running he was fine with.

But I've always like dogs on the bigger side of the standard or even slightly over (for pets of course). Casper is oversized for a Dogo, he is too tall. Ronon is average for a Greyhound, but I've seen Greyhounds go from tiny 45lb females to 100lb males in racing condition!

I prefer my big dogs between 70-100lbs depending on the breed. Never cared much for what I consider medium size dogs (35-69lbs). And nothing under 15lbs either! I like my small dogs around 20-25lbs.

I am a Doberman addict too! I'd love to see pictures!
My Ebby is 79 lbs and 24.5 at the withers. The biggest Doberman I've ever had was a male I had named Terminator. He was right at 96 lbs...actually Terminator was Ebby's sire lol As far as bloodlines they are just standard run of the mill byber lines. Not my crowning glory but hey...can't change the past.

    Here's Ebby
    And her sire Terminator (RIP)

I've always admired dobies, and enjoyed seeing them in action. I'd really like to see the dobie who holds the Splash Dogs Super V record jump

I saw the most BEAUTIFUL red dobe walking in the park the other day. Garp and I just stared. And stared. I think he was crushin' hard. She was so regal. She walked so gracefully. Obsessed.

Wow, Terminator was gorgeous. Most Dobes are, though... IMO :)

I like the bounce-of-the-walls energy, myself, lol. I wish Bonnie had a little more of it. I like a handful.

I didn't like Dobermans in the past but they are really growing on me now. Most of the dogs I'd seen were either show bred or BYBer bred, like someone else said. Most had huge chests and it was really turning me off. I've seen some leaner dogs recently and I'm liking what I'm seeing. lol If for some reason I ended up with one, I would not turn it away.

    Terminator was stunning!
