Brian Moylan —Woman Dies of Allergic Reaction to the Dog She Had Sex With: After reading this weird news story (original news story posted below), you will never have to read another weird news story ever again. It has everything: an insane premise, crazy people, crushing irony, sex, crime, and sex crime. It seems an Irish woman died after an allergic reaction to a dog—a dog she had sex with. Yes. Really.

From Ireland, the land of geniuses like James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, and Bono, comes this story of a 43-year-old woman who encountered a man in a bestiality chat room and then met him at his house in Limerick. She had sex with his Alsatian dog and then had a severe allergic reaction shortly afterwords, possibly from the dog's semen. She later died at the hospital. The incident apparently took place in 2008, but medical experts just confirmed the cause of death, because the case is finally making its way to court, not because it took them this long to get over the shock of how she died. The dog owner, Sean McDonnell, is charged with "buggery" for ordering the dog to commit the act. Buggery is apparently still a crime on the books in Ireland, so thank God for that. McDonnell is thought to be the first person charged with it since it was enacted in 1861.

So, next time you hear about a man biting a dog or a delivery driver run over by his own truck, just remember this story and remind yourself it's best to stay away from the weird news.

Woman died from allergic reaction to sex with dog
7/8/11

A MAN HAS appeared before Limerick District Court charged with ordering his Alsatian dog to have sex with a 43-year-old mother of four, who died from an adverse allergic reaction to the intercourse.

The Irish Sun reports that Sean McDonnell, 57, is charged with buggery contrary to Section 61 of the Offences against the Person Act of 1861 – and is believed to be the first person in Ireland to be charged under the legislation.

The Irish Daily Star adds that McDonnell and the deceased woman had discussed the arrangement on a bestiality internet chat room, and that Gardaí are satisfied that the intercourse was consensual.

The Alsatian dog has been kept in quarantine ever since the incident of 7 October, 2008, Patrick O’Connell wrote.

The woman fell ill at around 7:30pm that evening and was rushed to Mid-Western Regional Hospital where she died at around 8pm. Tests showed she had died of anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction similar to that prompted by peanut allergies.

The Sun’s Barry Moran said McDonnell could face a life sentence in prison if found guilty.

Wow,like there weren't already enough reasons to be ashamed of being Irish. And what the hell is "Buggery"?

Back in the day when my grandma's parents first came here from Ireland they tried to be slick and drop the "O"
from their last name. I'm pretty sure shit like this is the reason why.

If, somehow the dogs deserves THIS, why not just put him down?
Can you imagine? 3 years in quarantine?*

And the dog deserves the same fate...because?

That's... all kinds of things that are difficult to wrap my head around right now.

Big question is, how is "buggery" worth a life sentence in Ireland, where they get drunk and fuck everything/anything all the time? Granted, said buggery is fucked up, but really? A life sentence?

They probably quarantined him originally because they were worried whatever killed the woman may be something rare and/or contagious. After it was shown the woman died of a freak allergic reaction I guess they had no one to release him to. Poor dog.

Could you imagine taking a rescue that had been confiscated because he had sex with humans? That's one dog I wouldn't let hang out with me in the bathroom when showering or watch me get dressed, rofl.

The dog does not deserve to be quarintined for 3 yrs.No zoonotic disease takes that damn long to manifest. It either needs to be rehomed or PTS if he is not placeable. That long of ''confinement''to me is cruel to the dog.The only crime he committed was doing what his master told him to do,albeit it's unsavory nature. The dog doesn't know about human laws and what he did was wrong.Only that he was being obediant to his owner. I feel bad for the dog,he was the TRUE victim here.

About the original post. Now that's irony-isn't it.I guess she found out one of the consequences of mating outside your own species. There are some sick people in this world.:no2:
