Wow! You can actually comprehend some things! I am well aware that I'm getting free internet right now, thanks for pointing out what I already said, you get a star!

As far as my situation, I have a new car because I HAVEN'T ALWAYS BEEN POOR. Ever heard of getting laid off? See, when a company can no longer afford to pay all the employees it has, it has to terminate the employee's positions, so they don't have jobs anymore. When you've been with a company for several years, your generally enjoy pay increases throughout the time that you are employed, so when you have to look for another job, you don't start out at what you were previously making, which means that your checks aren't what they used to be. Does this make sense to you?

Think I can sell a car when I'm still upside down on payments? And if I just gave the car back, how would I get to work and school, keep in mind that my job is dependant upon my vehicle. And where exactly would I get a few thousand dollars to be able to buy a reliable used vehicle? Oh, you probably think that public transit is easily accessible, safe, clean, and punctual, don't you? Maybe you should work on your education before telling others that they should. Or maybe try removing your head from where it's obviously lodged and realizing that not everything is as black and white as you seem to think it is?

And as far as my child's father, an intelligent person would assume that I can't get money from him, or I would, so sorry that concept missed you.

Please step off your high horse, I'm not laying my problems on anyone. But the fact is, my pets are taken care of better than anyone I know, people with money, and without. And I'll be damned if any one of them goes without. And *THAT* was the topic of this thread.

Funny all of the posts of in this thread and you have to resort to name calling......LMAO! Some people never seize to amaze me!

Well thats really all that matters, isn't it?

If it upset you to air your personal financial situation and get a response to it you could have just said, "Hey I'm completely broke and I still manage to take awesome care of my pet(s)." No biggie.:)

Another fine example of..........If you don't want your shit talked about......DON'T TALK ABOUT YOUR SHIT! People that get all pissy when someone responds to the facts they put out in public make me wanna puke.

    This is a pointless thread.

People without enough money have forever owned pets. Most of the time they don't vaccinated on time, or ever, and they are fed store food. It's never going to change.

For anybody to use govt checks to pay for anything for animals isn't right and pisses me off!

This is what the thread was about! It obviously was not clear in the first post, so I made sure I explained it better in my next post!

I am asking is more about the laws being passed.....do you agree with them, and their way of thinking, do you think it is ok that they are passing them for this reason alone?

Well one would have to know what law you're talking about before somebody could comment on it. I haven't a fucking clue what you laws you mean.

I do feel it should NOT be allowed for govt. assisted people to spend money on fucking pets! Get a pet......lose your check........PERIOD.

As far as people working but are just low income. They can do whatever they want with their money. They earned it.

    Is that better now?

    Carry on

Mia, I have a question for you...........
You stated in your first post that people that could not afford to pay for themselves do not need a pet..period..... I AGREE!

Then you basically said the same thing in your 2nd post.....
then when the table turned a little bit, and you thought it was (apparently) about funding for people who cannot afford to take care of their pets, it was a different story........I am asking you this because it does not make a lot sense to me.
    Here is why:

Regardless, if somebody needs "help" to pay for a vet bill. you feel they do not need a pet...I AGREE....but then you say, they can own one, you do not care, as long as you do not have to pay for their vet bills....ok, well they cannot pay for them, so do the dogs go untreated, or what? Or do we as us citizens pay for them like we do everything else through taxes....like kids, houses, child support, food, medical......etc etc....
Or if they cannot pay the bill, do they not need to own a pet? (this was your first statement)
I am asking because I feel like you were on track from the beginning, but after a couple of posts you changed your mind.....just looking for a little clarification!

Damn......in the first post.....there are 2 now that I know of...I stated in the first post the first post....the first post!
The tethering law in Austin Texas

As stated in the first post! (I know I did not post links, just figured people read the BSL section and Pit Bulls in the News in here......

I'll put it in simple terms so you'll understand it. It is immoral to go out of your way to force your beliefs on others as to how they should live their lives. In this case, NOT tethering their dogs. Unless there is an OVERWHEALMING reason then this sort of use of the law is abusive and is based way more on being arrogant and blind as to the unintended consequences than anything else.

Or just being so cruel as to not really care. It comes down to, basically, yuppies with a very urban view of the world forcing everyone else to live like they do. And I find it sickening.

Live and let live is a much better way to....live. Because people don't agree on what a perfect world should be. When people start crusading for a "perfect world" from THEIR point of view they can only get there by forcing others to accept their point of view. In this case a tether free world.

Next time you might find someone forcing their "perfect world" on you and that world might look quite a bit less than perfect. Like, say a world in which pet ownership is illegal. Don't laugh or be dismissive. There are people who are working for just such a world and things like tethering laws are the thin end of the wedge.

To some people the answer to "who should own them" is: No one. And those people (PETA & elements of the HSUS) have millions of dollars to get their way. So be careful when working to take away someone else's rights that you aren't working to also take away YOUR rights.

Your very little sense to me.......meaning Your theoretical thinking IMO was irrelevant!
You cannot make utter nonsense clear!
As far as ME pushing MY beliefs on somebody....where have I done that? I have not done that.....people can "believe" whatever the hell they choose to believe! All I was doing, was no different than anyone else here with the exception of one or two....DEBATING....that IS what this is a DEBATE!
You lay your thoughts out, and I will lay out mine, then we will IN A CIVIL MANNER discuss and try to rationalize our thoughts and emotions and decide what is what!

And BTW,I am not working to take away anyone's rights.....where in the hell did you get that?
I have already stated, I do not agree with the laws in general (as it is another way for them to dictate our lives), but I do understand and agree with their line of thinking!

I have also NEVER NOT ONE TIME EVER...said anything about this world being perfect!
This world is a FAR CRY from perfect!

You seem to be suggesting that poor people shouldn't own dogs. I find that position offensive. The first post I made was as clear as crystal for anyone who can think abstractly.

I never got that impression from FK's post. Like she has said, she doesn't agree with them passing the laws, but she does understand that if the person is using govt. funds and just hardly getting by to fed them self, then they probably shouldn't own a pet that is just another mouth to fed. She doesn't believe the govt. should decide it at all.

Well, I don't think anyone likes welfare sponges. I sure don't. I thought she was suggesting that the anti tethering law was good because it would keep poor people from having dogs.

That being the case, sorry to have been so off target.

In the case stated above. That can be very complex and is a case by case type of thing, IMO.

I know that FK is not one of those, "Don't chain your dog" kind of people, though. So, I seriously doubt she is pro-anti-tethering. (LOL. That looks weird).
