Every so often, when I see enough photos of American Bullies (usually a bunch of horrendous exotics and then maybe some halfway decent pockets or classics) I start to think hey, I could get used to looking at them.

Then I look at one meme comparing Bullies to APBTs (I realize the one above is not a good example as they are both bullies) and realize just how much I truly dislike them.

There are a handful out of the thousands I've seen that I actually like. The ones that appear, or truly are, functional.

He's an Amstaff, not American Bully. Razor's Edge doesn't automatically = Bully. The foundation stock was oversized Amstaffs, which this dog's pedigree shows the foundation animals and the rest of the pedigree is White Rock, Ruffian, Patton, Gaff, Watchdog. (Watchdog is also not an Ambully bloodline, it is seen in some Ambully pedigrees, but in itself it was Amstaff/some game, some like Beelzebub were supposedly hog dogs.)

As far as I'm concerned, RE in a pedigree DOES automatically = Bully, because of Dave's propensity for paper hanging since the BEGINNING of the line. There is no integrity in those breedings and since it was done more than once, and can be proven to have, it calls EVERY breeding he's EVER done into question. The dog in the OP HAS some of the paper-hung dogs in his pedigree anyway, so again, as far as I'm concerned, the dog is a Bully mutt, NOT an AST.

Even if that is true, the majority of the pedigree is not RE. Only the grandsire on the dam's side, 1/4th. The rest if it is Amstaff. And I can't say I support stating early foundation dogs, mixed, hung or what no = a different breed. As the breed technically was not solidified at that point. It takes more than 3 generations for a breed to be created, they're just mutts.

Then the dog is either a Bully, or it's a MUTT, pick one. You don't get to have both and you don't get AmStaff as an option (and you sure as shit don't get APBT which is what that thing is registered and bred as).

I said Amstaff because I've never seen proof of Dave hanging breedings, nor was I aware of him doing so in early breedings. I was under the impression it was later in the lines around Remy Martin and shortshot. Not that I don't believe it's possible, I just tend to stay neutral on subjects until I find good evidence. So with that said, when looking at the pedigree, I took it for what was listed. And the dogs listed would be Amstaffs if no tinkering was involved. Hence why I said that.

If it's true that there was tinkering, then yes the dog would be a mutt.

Know anything about basic color genetics? Dilute x dilute can never = black pigment. And yet...

Now those are just a couple of the obvious ones, and those two dogs also happen to be INCREDIBLY prominent, important dogs in RE pedigrees. Either Dave himself didn't realize that wasn't possible, or he figured everyone else would be too ignorant to ever notice, but since he did it in those cases, what about all the other breedings that don't make it blatantly obvious because they're dilute puppies registered to two dilute parents, etc?

    Good enough evidence?

Yeah :) That Buckshot dog is the sire of Shortshot I mentioned earlier.

Probably both sadly. Very few people seem to realize it :/ And most of the people I've met in the bully world were ignorant about dogs in general, let alone genetics.

And yes, I just did not connect the dots initially. It's been a long time since I've even cared to look at bully breed peds. :x Danke for the links

  18. Looks like a slightly stockier version of my dog Zoe (but with cropped ears)
