 Thought I'd outsmart the logging out and losing my post and submit then edit the rest in......:no2: Oh.no....can't do that....typed and submitted pics then got a message that you can't edit 5min. after your post....so lost all that......

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......

My next dog as an adult (4X again........)
    Was Nakita an Akita/Pitbull X
I got her from my Aunt...just happened to stop by one day and she asked if I wanted her....if I didn't take her they were going to shoot her
My conscience couldn't live with that, so home with me she went....
She was my constant shadow, loyal protector, so tolerant of kids....her only flaw was that she was severely dog aggressive.
She was my heart for almost 15yr......the day she passed, a piece of me went with her...it saddens me to this day....:(

I swore I wouldn't get another dog.....and then 8mos. later I was researching smaller breeds...I wanted something small but with a big personality and attitude and along came Sassafrass Louise, my first Jack Russell Terrier
    [IMG]
She came from a couple that had 2 JRT's, not a money making operation.
She's my Diva dog...such a lady until she sees a chipmunk....then all hell breaks loose !!

    Then 5mos. later....along came Gretchen Josephine Lab/Rott X
The woman (obviously a back yard breeder) tried to pawn her off as a full blooded Rott.
She's my loveable, don't know your own strength, beautiful lummox !!

And then....last but surely not least !! Maisy Mae...our 2nd Jack Russell...they're like potato chips..you can't have just one !!
We got her from a JRT breeder that owned a horse farm...
All her Jacks were named after the "Friends" crew.....
Maisy's Mom and Dad were Ross and Monica....should've known she'd be a neurotic, fun loving clown !!

    Let's see

Jake - My hubby went to the a locally owned pet store to get some crickets for our Lizard Sh*t. He called me about this cute little puppy outside needing a home. I of course said no way in h*ll. he went on and on so I said I would come look. Well I got there and there were about 4 puppies needing a home instead of going to the shelter. I really really want a girl, but the boys markings were too cute. So, I said OK

Zoe - Jake and I went to get food for him at Pet smart (before I knew anything about nutrition). The HS was having an adoption day. I always looked, but Coco pulled at my heart. I think in the back of my mind I was looking for a 2nd dog, but not really looking. I bent down to say hello and she licked me. I asked to see her outside her crate and had her interact with Jake. Well it was like they were long lost friends. Called hubby and home came Coco who we renamed Zoe. We were told she barked too much and that was why she was given up. Come to find out she is quite as a mouse, but had severe separation anxiety. Left her in the car to get her a new collar, and when we came back to the car, my front seats were chewed into shreds. I left for work on Monday and got a call from our neighbor. She chewed up my recliner. Did we return her, Heck no! We made a commitment to her and worked with her on her separation anxiety. I don't have any puppy photos of her b/c she was 8 months old when we adopted her. She is cute as a button and my sweet snuggle bum.

Maddie, I already told her story in the into post. She was our neighbors who got her from a BYB. She was kept outside or in a crate downstairs int he cold storage. I would go over and walk her or give her water. The wife really did not want her. She brought home cats to show her hubby how much easier cats are than dogs. When that did not work, she all of the sudden became allergic to Miss Maddie. then the "get rid of her" conversation was taking place while my hubby and I were around. We told her we would take her and find her a home. Well we did, ours.
