What kind of snake is this?

    My uncle went outside in El Paso, TX to find this thing on his back porch.

    My guess would be a copper head.

    I want to say, it's a Blacktail Rattler.

    And a cutie too! He didn't kill it, did he?

    He did kill it because he feared for his dogs. He felt awful about it though.

    Well that's a shame. I would have had to try to relocate it first. But if he's not experienced handling venomous snakes, I do understand.

    Yea as far as I know he doesn't have any experience. It was right by the door where the dogs go in and out. Believe me when I tell you that it wasn't something he took lightly. Even when faced with it being a threat to his dogs.

    Poor snake, poor guy :(. That would feel really shitty to make that decision, but if he couldn't relocate it, he did the right thing.

    Maybe i'm crazy but i've moved tons of venomous snakes, Mostly copperheads, but i own a snake hook and that helps...
