So it appears this company won't ship food out unless your local?

Yup, they only do local delivery. Which sucks because it's a great food and I always recommend it to people, but they can't get it!

That's weird. Not like it would cost them to ship it.
So I got curious... They appear to be a small, family-owned facility (even making the kibble on their personal property), which would explain why they only sell locally. They just don't have the capacity to support nationwide sales. They seem to have a good product though.

They don't make it on their property (they're located in NC and are family owned), it's made at Ohio Pet Foods. Here ya go:

Where is our food made?
The PetWay's blends are made from USA ingredients manufactured by Ohio Pet Foods. Ohio Pet Foods has been producing pet food for 28 years without ever having a recall. They are the only facility in the US that we have found that produces EU certified pet foods. Europe requires that pet foods use human-grade meat instead of by-products. The food is inspected and tested before distribution.

Yea I read that but it seemed like the ingredients were from OH and the kibble is manufactured in NC which is why it's only distributed in nearby towns.

Nah it's made in Ohio, I've spoken with the owners :) This is also on their FAQ page:

Where is the PetWay Food produced?
Our food is produced in the USA at Ohio Pet Foods. This facility has been producing pet food for 28 years. We have never had a recall due to the quality of the ingredients and the testing that the product undergoes before being shipped out to be consumed by your pets.

I do wish they shipped elsewhere though. It's so nice to be able to order my food on a Sunday night and have it delivered to my door on Monday!

That does suck.. I wish we had places like that here. I'd totally rather give my money to local stores. Guess they make a good enough profit to not to desire the option of shipping. I wonder, do they have any pet shops they supply to that will ship? Or are they only retail?

But then I wonder why they only sell in NC. I mean of all places they should only sell in OH

They live in NC, and deliver to some cities there as well as all of the Hampton Roads, VA cities (which is where I live). I'm not sure exactly how it all works though. They deliver the food in their own delivery vans, not via FedEx/UPS/USPS, so I'm sure that's a big factor.

They do sell at a few local shops, I'm not sure if any of them ship though: Where to Buy
