Lol, Ohio.....that's why I asked online places. The closest feed store that carries it is 45 minutes away.

Was feeding Nature's Domain, but it wasn't agreeing with my girl. Just completed the switch to Acana Grasslands Formula. It's going great with it, I recommend it highly if you can afford it.

Not sure how much the feed store sells it for, but if it's anything close to what mine does ($35 for 40lbs of the HPP), it might be worth the trip for you to just go there and stock up vs. spending $55 per bag online. Just a thought :)

I am feeding a complete raw food diet though it doesn't appear very popular after reading through the previous posts.

I feed Zeke, my Amstaff, chicken necks, ox and lamb hearts, lambs livers, fish, Kangeroo and Turkey mince and several eggs a week. Everything raw. He also gets meaty bones.

He also picks and eats his own apples!!

He is in what I consider beautiful condition with a lovely coat. Endless energy.

Going from victor yukon river to acana pork and butter nut squash then now back to acana pacifica cause he's not eating his food as willingly maybe he doesn't need as much but if I give him 3 peices by hand he goes to the bowl and eats it

Don't let him be picky. And hand feeding only encourages it.

That's true, I'll have to call and see how much it is. It's not really the 45 minute drive, it's winter here!!! Lizzie & Bea you live where it's warm, we are here where Arctic air and Canadian clippers are the norm! It's not fun driving in snow and ice when you don't have too. I'm also hypothyroid, it makes me have a lower tolerance to cold. Paying 20 bucks to have it brought to my door........okey dokey. First I have to see how much they sell it for, that will decide if it's worth the trip.

The last food I fed was made by a local company who delivered it right to my door as well. I could order it on a Sunday night and have it at my door on Monday, definitely convenient! But it was $95 for 55lbs., and while my dogs did great on it, being able to pay $35 for 40lbs. was a no brainer for me.

I hadn't been checking in much, I remember some or all of your guys being on raw. Any particular reason you went back to kibble?

Yeah I fed PMR to everyone for 2yrs. I mainly switched over because Sako started to be afraid to eat the raw (dropped weight, etc.), then Piper had surgery and it was just a pain to feed while she was on crate rest (aka expen rest). They did so well on it that I just stuck with it.

    Then there's this:

(intact and a little over 2yrs. old in the first pic, neutered and 3yrs. old in the second)

Him & Piper just look better now on kibble, so that's what I've stuck to. Barrett has always been kibble fed.

I still feed raw because it's the only diet Peanut can eat with out getting sick. He gets a mouthful of the other dogs kibble and he gets explosive diarrhea. He can't process kibble. Other dogs in my house are kibble fed(merrick).

Riddle is now raw fed, he went off kibble right before he was diagnosed with late stage cancer. He won't eat whole pieces of meat, only ground, so I have to buy commercial raw. It's costing me a fortune right now because he's eating six pounds a day right now and I'm paying around $35 for 16lbs, or $400 a month. He probably only has weeks at this point so whatever he'll eat I'll get him. He has a 5x3" intestinal tumour that's causing diarrhea and bleeding but on the raw he's actually having almost normal poops which is amazing the vets at this point.

I was worried about him not eating as he got into rat poison when the retard my mom married left him un supervised on the deck for a hour. We had rat issues so we had rat poison boxes put in and kept Remy off the deck unsupervised only let him go down to the grass and back.

My mom noticed the green color on his cheeks while playing fetch. He was taken to vet and induced vomit until clear and then given charcoal and 2 shots of rataidine or something like that and IV fluids and a shot of vitamin k with oral vitamin k.

They had me bring him in on the 4 day for coagulation panel that came back normal.

So I rather know he's not eating because of the poison but now he's eating properly now

I guess that my amstaff is veggie. He loves apples, bananas and all sort of fruits...
I was feeding with Farmina Cibau Puppy, but now I'm using Hills.

I would love to give meat to him, but his vet is against it...

If your vet is against giving meat to a carnivorous animal, get a new vet

Then I guess it's a good thing you're paying to feed the dog, not the vet. Hills is junk.
