What do y'all think about this dog? Thinking about buying a pup off him.

I've shown in the abkc , I'm not sure if miakoda wasn't talking about the dog on the first page, surely I think Pete is a good example of what a standard bully should look like. Easty westy is thrown around so loosely at bullies, true easty westy is when the dog is stacked properly and the feet point out, not if the feet point out in a relaxed state, that can happen to any dog.

Eva, I agree. The apbt and the ambully are two different dogs. People need to stop using ukc apbt standards to judge ambullys. That's just like using an akc german shepard standard to judge a ukc apbt.

For the most part, I learned to accept the slight easty westy from gotty blood. On some dogs, easty westy kinda goes along with it's build. I am cool with it....

For those who don't post anymore because some of us seem to "hate on" the ABKC standard, think about this:

They accept the turning out of the front and rear legs....as long as it's not too too bad.

They say nothing about the stifles. I guess straight stifles that result in some serious knee problems are just an "oh well."

Trust me, I want the ABKC to have a standard. But I want it to be one based upon the health of the dog since working ability is not what the dog is bred for. It's main concern is making sure that such produced dogs have the desirable head size and shape and chest width.

It needs a lot of tweaking. Hell, it needs at least 4 different ones considering it encompasses dogs ranging from 14 inches tall and 60 lbs to dogs 25 inches tall and 140 lbs (more or less). And it need the true AmBully lovers and supporters to push for a more sound standard. And then it needs people to actually follow it.

I have no qualms with the dogs. I don't hate them or want to spit on them. I feel sorry for them just as I do for English Bulldogs. But I put all blame on the breeders and those putting the money into the hands of such people.

Heck. My husband wants one. But I refuse to buy into this "breed" until they get a healthy standard and one that people actually follow.....and when they quit referring to their dogs as APBTs on their invidual home pages. I'll just stick to Petfinder for any possible future AmBully.

(and trust me, many of the AmBully owner/breeders on this forum refer to their dogs as APBts on their own homepages.....what are we supposed to think when they spout off that they don't on this very forum?)

And my post was directed to the dog on page 1. I have no interest or time in looking at the rest on this thread.

What if we as people were judged by a standard. Eyes should be straight with 20/20 vision. Weight and height ratio proportioned, etc. Everyone and every creature are different. Easty Westy is accepted in abkc. Hmmmm, I know a lot of easty westy people but, I wouldn't call them a piss poor example of a person. Also, the "piss poor" dog on the front page I originally started this post about has more abkc points and awards than most of our dogs will ever see...well, except the show stopper I plan on buying in the near furture. I just don't know where he's coming from yet, lol....
