She looks so much better. You have done a great job nursing her back to health. Props!

Yes, we have decided to make her part of the family.

As for the hurricane, yes, out county got hit hard by it. They eye came within 10 miles of our town. Thankfully though, the only damage we had was yard debris.

We haven't yet got them together other than within 10' of each other. But Diesel, even as large as he is, is the most dog friendly dog I've ever had. Every dog or cat is a play pal. I suspect there will be no issues with either dog, once they can get to know each other. During walks, we make sure they see each other from a distance and there's been no aggressive tenancies what so ever, so far.

agree with Derek! After witnessing the progress and positive results just because you took the time and you cared enough to 'inconvenience' your routine,etc,etc.. I think it'd be almost impossible not too.. She's a beautiful dog and I have a feeling she knows she owes you her life.. forever grateful!

That is how I introduced my rescue into the home of my smaller dog.. I started out doing 'team' or rather 'pack' like activities.. they grew their bond and it's been two months with no issues as of yet. Lola weighs 25lbs and Millie weighs 50lbs.. so I still supervise when they play as Millie could easily hurt her with rough housing.

I would get them closer together, but I want to make completely sure we bit the demodex in the butt with our treatments. It looks like we have, but I want to make completely sure before I let her have any direct contact with any other dogs. We will do a skin scrape in a week or so and see where we are.

Awww!! She looks great!!!!!! What great news that you will be keeping her. Thanks for sharing your rescue story with us. Can't wait to keep hearing updates on her!! and photos... of course is a MUST! Lol. If you want them closer and your only worry is demodex, it's okay. Demodex isn't contagious. :)
