Veronica's CCL surgery

Veronica had her second CCL surgery 1 month after her 10th birthday on her left knee. She had her right knee done 3 years ago and that knee is doing great- same surgery this time - traditional lateral suture (somewhat controversial for her weight/breed - but was the right choice for her as an individual) .

    First day home from surgery:

    Still a bit doped up:

Oh look Veronica came home with a door prize - because she always has to have something extra going on (don't know what or why - but it cleared up).

    Lots of meds:

    Picnics in bed:

    Lots of rest:

    Coming along:

And then - Day 8 - the itch set in.

Really not happy with this turn of events:

Veronica gets her staples out in 6 days.

And her pre-surgery Christmas jammies just cause they're cute:

She was probably allergic to surgery! Lol

Thank you Pamela - it definitely goes both ways.

@Nat Ursula :D LMAO - most definitely allergic to the surgery! She said she probably shouldn't have it again and I promised her she's never have another CCL knee surgery. (and just neglected to mention that she was out of knees to have it on).

As spoiled as our dogs are, I think Veronica has them beat (not necessarily a bad thing!)

Thanks so much for all the healing vibes guys! They must be working because Veronica seems to be doing pretty well. Since this is her second knee surgery - I think we're both taking it better - seriously it's weird - she seems to know what to expect and seems a lot more bold about things than she did first time around (which probably isn't a good thing) - but also me & the husband are more laid back because we know what to expect.

... and I agree. Having read your posts about Miss V.'s life for a few years now, she (and you and your hubby) are a blissful pack :), and she is a very fortunate diva (using the latter in a positive way - she deserves it all).

Veronica had her staples out today - the surgeon was shocked at how well she is doing. So are we actually - this is a much easier recovery than her last surgery. (I'm guessing maybe because we didn't wait so long trying conservative management and we did water treadmill at rehab waiting for surgery - so she really didn't lose much muscle mass in the leg)...But... Also problematic in that she apparently feels so good - she's going to try to do way more than she can and we're going to have to sit on her even more than last time.
