Someone abandoned Tulip, pregnant and still lactating from a previous litter, in a fenced in yard. She has been used as a breeding machine. She needs a home without cats. She lived with a child and another dog while recovering from her spay surgery.

    Come meet Tulip at:
    100 North 2nd Street
    Philadelphia, PA 19106

Tulip is a 4-5 year old American Bulldog/Pit mix. Someone abandoned her in a yard (they opened up a gate, put her in, and locked it). It is clear she was used as a personal puppy mill.

Tulip spent some time recovering from her spay surgery in a home with kids and another dog where she did absolutely wonderfully. However, she does not like kitties and should not live with them.

Here at the adoption center, she is learning how to walk well on leash. She already knows "sit". Tulip has a wonderful medium energy level and would enjoy going on walks with you.

Tulip enjoys spending her time in the adoption store window, lying on her pillow. She likes cuddling up with blankets and just hanging out. She enjoys the company of people and will occasionally jump up, but not frequently. She is also a fairly quiet dog.

If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl who has lived with kids and another dog, please come meet her today!

PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization. PAWS pulls at-risk animals from the City of Philadelphia’s animal control shelter and adopts them out, either from our adoption center (located at 2nd and Arch Streets), from one of our adoption locations at area PETCO and PetSmart stores, or from our network of foster homes.

PAWS is dedicated to saving the lives of Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned and unwanted animals and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home.

When you adopt a pet from PAWS you truly save a life!

PAWS' Adoption Center in Old City is open Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring about this pet.

All animals adopted from PAWS are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Adoption fees are as follows: $60 for dogs, $50 for cats over 6 months of age, and $75 for cats under 6 months of age.

Please visit our web site, www.phillypaws.org, for our full calendar of adoption events throughout the region, and for more information on adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

When she gets adopted, we can take another pit/bully breed (they don't stand much of a chance at animal control).
