The dog should be on antifungals like Fluconazole. She started them and in Sept. Of 2016. Many dogs have to stay on them their whole lives. It is very expensive. They can get it in compounded form from Diamondback Pharmacy, Scottsdale, Arizona. They ship all over the country.

You’re right, that was my mistake. She’s on Fluconazole twice per day. They said it could be up to a year.

Tonka's medicine costs between $40-$55 a month.

We did bloodwork every three months. I think we should have done every six months though. If it seems like the dog is feeling so crappy I think they should try something for an acid stomach and see if he perks up. The prednisone and fluconazole were affecting Tonka's and she took Pepcid or something similar for a while.

Tonka is turning into a fatty again! She gained 7 lbs. since her last Dermatologyappt. At the end of March. The Vet said we should put her on a slimmer food for senior dogs. I have no idea what to do? Right now she is on 3/4 cup Acana Mackerel 2X daily. She also gets a couple of TBS of Eagle Pack turkey 2X daily. They are lean TBS. then she gets two glucosamine chews every day. She also gets 1/8 cup kibble at lunch time.

So far I took 1TBS TURKEY AWAY IN THE MORNING AND THE EVENING. I LIKE EAGLE pAcK CANNED BECAUSE IT CONTAINS LIVER AND I THINK IT IS REALLY GOOD FOR THEM.

I forgot I've been giving her golden paste several times per week. So she is getting 1/2 tsp. coconut oil 2X daily (about every other day?).

Valley Fever titer numbers are still good. This is what we are dealing with now. It started out a few years ago as the size of a matchstick tip. She had cryosurgery but it didn't fall off. Then I kept asking about it and two Dermatologists told me they were not concerned about it. Then I sent a picture last winter, 6mos. after her last appt. and I got an e-mail with an urgent surgery estimate. Then I brought her in right away and Derm. told me that they couldn't surgically remove it and send it to pathology due to its location so they lasered it on 2/19. Now it is growing again and they recommend a excision biopsy. I've been getting estimates but she is nine and I'm not sure how to proceed?

Got an opinion and estimate from Dermatology and two Surgeons. The most reputable Surgeon said he wouldn't remove it unless it becomes problematic and/or doubles in size...interesting.
