i want to know what every one thinks about these two breeders that i found close to my place. They are the only two in all of Quebec listed for reliable breeders.

Nice to see some people working/sporting their dogs! Some of the blood I like, some is a little too Am staffy/Am Bully for my tastes but all in all, I'd say they are one of the more responsible looking folks breeding in Canada. I like that there is health testing in the stock but can't quite figure out if they themselves are health testing?

I like the looks of the dogs in the second one better, and they have more titles it seems?

Dammit. I gotta stop looking or I'm going to wind up with another pup! Some of that Hemphill/Wilder blood has a bit of Hammonds in there which make them eerily similar to my dogs!

Yes, Colby is good :) Very old time breeder. I was ready to call bullshit because all I saw were red dogs on their males page, and Colby doesn't produce red nose dogs... but I guess I didn't scroll down far enough lol

If one wound up on my porch, I wouldn't send it packing. Some think they've lost their punch, some stand by them so I'd say it's a matter of who you ask. The Colby family has been in the breed for a century though. A lot of history in that blood...

First one looks decent/good to me. The second looks like UKC AmStaffs.

Alot of the blood there some people would consider ''Am staffish" I guess you could say. More show than performance. My first five dogs all had that Hemphill/Wilder blood.. but but game bred, not show bred, and they are great dogs. INTENSE. My boy Tanks mouth is like a freakin' vice, REALLY driven but a HUGE mush with people. I'm actually looking to add a Hemphill/Wilder pup but again... some of the blood is a bit too showy for me. Again though... wouldn't send one packing. lol

Colby is pretty much the only family of dogs where people will see a four-gen ped with almost no accomplishments and still think it's a great worthwhile dog...

I think I'd take one just for the historical value.

lol ok so i guess its just the name that people look at when it comes to colby dogs

Yeah, there's a lot of history in Colby dogs, but it seems like that's about it nowadays. You can't do nothing with your dogs for so many generations and expect them to live up to their ancestors. As far as I know there aren't many Colby dogs making the grade anymore. Although I have heard good things about Colby/Jeep.
