Dogs had a horrible illness in July. It took us a whole month to get them over it. They both vomitted once and then had horrible diarrhea. They took
Flagyl for 7 days, which seemed to help. Then a week later it all started up again. Here they are on 8/2 getting back to all their silliness. We had their stool samples sent to the lab and they didn't find any parasites. Then the second time around we had their stool analyzed for bacteria (more indepth DNA testing) and they still didn't find anything.

Here is our most recent picture of Teddy boy! Wow, we've had him three years now!!! He is huge and strong. He has recently figured out how to get into rooms with closed doors. We have to be very careful with him because he still loves to chew on leather and will easily eat a belt, shoe, or any other chewable item. He is a counter surfer too. He has no shame at all. I've never owned a dog who wasn't fearful if you yelled at him while you were running towards the kitchen counter. He just keeps licking or trying to lick something on the counter top. We are just fortunate that he is not very tall. lol

If we get sick and have to be hospitalized I don't know what will happen to Teddy? He is dog reactive and we don't know any experienced people who could watch him for us.

I have this worry, too, although Griffin is pretty easy to care for. Our local dog kennel is surprisingly good with pit bull types. I don't like leaving Griffin there, but we've had a couple emergencies where we had to, and I called ahead to lay out the "rules" for him. Griff isn't dog reactive, but I did get them to keep him alone and not out with other dogs, and some other special practices for his needs. It's not ideal, but it works if we need it again. Maybe call around and see what you can find?

Thanks, yes I guess I shoud try. It was just disappointing because the people who know him best sent an e-mail and said they will not care for dogs of people who get this virus.
