    "The Underdawgs" on Animal Planet

    Has anyone heard of this?

How does this make you all feel? I want to know which rescue it is - I think that is going to make or break the show and WHO gets their hands on these dogs.

sounds good, hope this show works out

    Sounds like trouble.

Most (not all) people who sign up for those shows are just looking for their 15 mins. of fame, not actually what the point of the show they audition for. So, I hope it works out, but am afraid it won't.

If the right people adopt the dogs it could be really good. But if people (like mentioned above) just adopt to get there 15mins of fame it wouldn't be a good turn out for the breed.

Horrible idea. I feel terrible for the dogs.

another reason animal planet is horrible...another "reality" show "finding homes" for these animals that some people are may only be going on for 15 minutes of fame and the animals are the ones that suffer.

My roommate couldn't understand WHY I was flailing about it, he thought it was a peachy idea *eye roll*.. which is the scariest part, because HE is the type of person they are going to pick to "adopt" dogs for this show.

I really don't want to see this happen, because unless it's being run by Bad Rap I just can NOT see it ending well!

    It's Villalobos rescue.

    PNWPBR Good Dog

*sigh* Well Villalobos just lost the respect I have for them then.

Not only is it selling out, but its candy coating the breed for tv. There will be people adopting on the show that have no interest, nor should ever own an APBT.

    How very sad.

They need a reality show for everything these days. I don't know how I feel about it though. I wouldn't mind watching a documentation of a loving responsible person's desire and sucess of owning a pitbull dog, but TV ruins everything!

    Villalobos? REALLY? GAWD!

That's EVEN worse... Tia prides herself on her XXX large, "aggressive to EVERYTHING" dogs pulled from tough LA shelters *eye roll*

    Shame on Haters!

Tia and her family have literally given their lives to this breed. They breath and live pit bulls every day. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever seen Tia go on a vacation. She would never consent to anything that wasn't in the best interest of her dogs.

Furthermore, I think this idea will make a great show and will illustrate the loving nature of this breed to those who are uneducated about pit bulls. I'm so excited for it to come out!

This is just another mistake by the rescuers...... They are going to make it seem like everyone can have a pit bull... and if you treat it sweet and smother it in love and cuddles... it'll be fine. Until a chihuahua gets killed..... then it'll be back to death row!

The bottom line is THIS BREED IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!

How does everyone know that she wont turn someone down? Just because there will be people looking for their 15 minutes of fame doesn't mean there wont be people screening for that.

I feel that if the TV show can demonstrate what is needed to properly contain a pit bull, proper care and handling, and shows the kind of person who fits the needs of a pit bull, then why is this bad?
  15. CoolHandJean

So, the show will tell the person not to go to dog parks, and explain how Dog aggression is common in the breed, and will teach the new owner how to use a break stick?

    LOL... Jeanie.. I'd watch that!

Not crazy about it. its a horrible idea.. :( like most said here
    As far as this goes
they should of added "looking for males, females, couples, families who are experienced/responsible/educated pit bull breed owners and lovers who might be interested in adopting a pit bull.

i just hope (i doubt it) the people sign up for this are experienced/responsible/educated pit bull breed owners and lovers. :(

I think if they do that, then it might be successful.... I doubt they will do any of that. I am new to the breed and I think that these three things have been the most important thing that I have learned. I know i have alot more to learn, but I am glad that I do understand these things.
  19. Elliehanna

if they actually would educate on how to own the dog then I'm for it but I am guessing they wont so it will end badly, people watching the show will probably think o this breed is ok and get one and then they will end up in a dog fight at a dog park and get more bad media attention so if they don't educate then its chaos.
