The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

    • 1 cup butter, softened
    • 3/4 cup brown sugar
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup rolled oats
    • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, blend the butter, sugars, vanilla and lemon juice with an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and blend slowly until smooth. In a separate bowl, use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to combine the flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, and then blend it into the butter-sugar mixture. Add the chocolate chips and nuts, and stir until well blended. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough about 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, and bake for 16-20 minutes until the edges are golden-brown and the centers are slightly soft. Use a metal spatula to remove cookies carefully from the baking sheet, and cool them on a baker's rack for at least 10 minutes.
