I guess I should also say that even if a post is reported, it does not mean it will be deleted. Those that report posts for being "rude", "mean", "out of line" etc. are typically those that see criticism as an attack. If the post does not violate a forum rule, it does not get deleted. That said, it does allow the moderators to keep an eye on the thread if they had not already seen or kept up with it.

Also remember, when threads go awry at the wee hours of the morn, unless you're lucky and a mod is awake, don't expect anything to happen until we wake up (many of us are on the east coast, so you west coasters, know we're asleep 3 hours before you!). We have to sleep, and also typically have lives and full-time jobs! We can't be on the forum all the time. If something is pissing you off, just walk away, as you always should. Don't feed the instigator or the troll. Report the post and something will either eventually happen or it won't. But don't continue to make matters worse.

    Hey Michele.

I see you're trying to encourage respectful dialog over here, good luck with that. Not surprised that you're getting flak from your fellow super mods. My take? There is NO reason for any staff member to be disrespectful with any member. As a MODERATOR, it is incumbent upon staff to be MODERATING and use MODERATION in dealing with any situation and dare I say it?, yes I will ... TACT, in the responses that any MODERATOR use while communicating with any member. Problem is many "moderators" are afflicted with "John Wayne Syndrome" and think that their job is to police a forum rather than to promote dialog. Unruly members can be shut down without the need for any *$@#&.

Good talking to you this weekend.
