I want to take horse back riding lessons while I still live where there are a lot of horses. I have no money for lessons. So my solution? Selling plasma. I've done the research, I think it's a great way to make some extra cash. Problem? My mom won't let me. I'm 18 and have no job [because I have no car... because I have no permit...], how else am I supposed to pay for lessons? I've been telling her for a YEAR now that I want to ride horses. I never ask to go anywhere, I never do ANYTHING that normal people my age do. The one fucking time I want to do something that involves actually ~getting out~ and going places, and she won't fucking help me. All I ever talk about, literally, is how much I want to ride horses. =/ I wish I could get a fucking break...

Kid, you are lucky Roxie is such a nice, forgiving dog. Now if it had been Buddy that you hit on the head, she would have at least given you a nice bite... but no, Roxie just crawls to me and cowers.

Do that shit again and I won't just yell at you.

I feel your pain, man. I wish you lived near me, me and my cousin could give you free lessons.

Ignitethis- Where in WI are you? I'd gladly clean stalls if you'd let me ride a horse once in a while
  4. ignitethis

Close to Madison. It's actually my grandparents that have the horses (there are three, but only one is rideable by anyone that isn't my cousin). But my cousin trains horses and would probably help anyone who wants to learn.

So I work in telemarketing (yes I annoy you at work) Anyway, it was either that or live on unemployment for a while. I don't really care, it's not terrible for the most part and it pays nicely. I'm used to the hang-ups and all that and it doesn't bother me anymore. But what I can't stand are the people that take 5-10 mins out of their day to YELL at me about how much I'm wasting there time. I'm sorry, would you rather me sit on unemployment and take your hard-earned money because you can't seem to find the time to tell me yes or no regarding a free subscription that pertains to your job industry. It's a good magazine, not one that pussy-foots around the issues and just acts like a worthwhile read. It actually is. So fuck off people that have the time to yell and belittle me but can't just simply say "no, I'm not interested."

I rode hunter/jumper for 7 years. I showed a couple of times. My horse died in 2006. I've been meaning to put all of my tack up for sale but honestly, I feel like once I do that, then it's really over.. I just can't bring myself to sell my stuff. :(

Oh man, I'm sorry :( I rode hunters from the time I was 5 til 2yrs. ago, so 16ish yrs. I free leased my horse out in Nov. '09 and haven't ridden since. I've sold everything except my helmet & half chaps.. figure I should hold onto those just in case I got the itch to ride again (I still have friends that ride). I miss it though.

I'm sorry about your horse. I always like holding onto stuff, cuz you really never know when you'll need it again... and sometimes I want a reminder. Like I grabbed a lead rope from the farm last time I was out there since I don't plan on going back. And I kept all of Buddy's old stuff, though it took Roxie a LONG time to earn the ability to sleep in Buddy's old bed.

If you're in south WI, like... Janesville, WI area and you need new glasses, DO NOT go to Mercy Mall. Stick with Wisconsin Vision. WV won't bash your 6 year old frames, they'll tell you how they are the highest quality, long lasting frames you could get. Oh, and they probably won't charge you almost $200 for new lenses (ONLY lenses, NOT lenses and frames). And guess what else? They will most likely CALL when they promised they will. Also, they will not treat you like a child.

Mercy Mall, I highly doubt you have a clue what you're talking about. Just because the paint is no longer perfect on my frames does not mean that they're ready to be thrown in the trash. That paint chipped off LOOOOOOOONG ago. And you know what? I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE PAINT.

What I DO give a shit about is the frames not breaking into pieces when a horse bucks me off into the barn or the silo. This has happened twice to me and guess what? My glasses are still in one perfect piece. And guess what else? When I got hit in the face with a basketball during gym, my glasses didn't break. Cuz y'know what? They bend.

I have never had so much as a loose screw with those glasses. Even the nosepiece is easy to keep clean. So shut your face, I do not want to buy your rediculous looking frames. I like having practical glasses that still look cool... and frames that make you look like you've got bubbles coming out your ears do NOT look cool.

Also, would it KILL you to call me so I can come in and get my lenses? It cannot possibly take you three and a half weeks to make lenses. If I can put fronts on 14 trailers in one day, you need to be able to make lenses before the apocalypse comes.

(omigod, I'm sorry this is so long)

I guess i will rant and rave also :)

So My mom lives up in the mountains so there isn't an animal control near by. But when her dogs get out(they are pit bulls. not aggressive at all) the neighbors call animal control and it takes about 30 minutes to get out to her house. well in that time she got the dogs back in.
But a couple of times her neighbors labs get out. they are very aggressive and My mother called animal control and we said that they where labs and they said that they couldn't come out to take care if it that the owners will get them eventually.

Isn't that messed up. It made me so mad.

How so? Do you like hold the mentos/pen towards random objects and situations and wait for absurd but awesome results that invariably make your day just a little bit better?

I am so bored. Like seriously... I might get destructive if I cant find something to do. Is it bad when life gets boring??

I get very flighty and weird around the same time every year or so.. I feel stuck, and just want to get up and run away.
It kind of feels like being a wild animal stuck in a wire cage all the time.

    Kind of hard to explain.....

I hate when people who live in my house set their stupid alarms for like six am (right when I'm trying to go to sleep) Then proceed to lay there and sleep through the damn thing for another hour and a half.I swear,I have to yell at them to turn that shit off and then they hit snooze so just as I'm laying back down and about to fall asleep it goes off again fifteen minutes later so I have to get up and bitch--again.And again.:no2:

Thanks. She was old though. She was 27. She had a mild colic the year before and that was the last time I rode her. So she had a nice year-long retirement. Then she coliced again and it was bad, she couldn't recover. If I get rid of her stuff, then I'm really done. It's a nice saddle, I'll never have another one like it. Are Roxie and Buddy your dogs?
  20. ignitethis

    ignitethis Good Dog

Wow! What a loooong life that horse had! I would definately never sell the saddle, it's so hard to find ones that are just right. And yeah, Rox and Buddy are my dogs. Or, well, Roxie IS my dog, and Buddy was my dog... died of cancer when she was 8. So I kind of know how you feel about the colic thing... Buddy had a Canine Mast Cell Tumor on her tail when she was 4, we removed it, and then she was fine for a while, and then she got another tumor, only at the other end... on her head. And we couldn't remove it.
