There are kennel facilities but they are a bit far from me and a bit expensive too, I use them when am travelling.
I have resorted to a gate with limited vision. At least it won't be visible what breed it is, but I can't resolve other issues (him jumping over, etc).

For what it's worth I wouldn't leave my dog outside with the possibility of him escaping, being stolen, fed poison, or fed food that is not healthy by some do-gooder.

No chance your dog couldn't be fed and watered before you go to work with enough time for him to go potty and left to hang out in the house on his own? My old dog used to bark his fool head off from the time I left until i came home when I confined him to a small half bath, but left loose he was quiet as a mouse.

Maybe try an indoor tether and all of your windows closed with curtains pulled so the do-gooders can't see? I have heard of people who attach a sturdy hook to a stud in their wall, attach a chain to the hook, and attach the dog collar to the chain. Dog proof the area he can reach, add some toys to chew, and you have a safely contained dog the nosy people can't report. If some police or other agency comes by you can just unscrew the hook bolt and stash it with the chain somewhere, move a table or something to cover the hole in the wall, and tell them whoever reported you is insane.

Something like this in the wall, large and sturdy. Easy to patch the hole and paint over when/if you move or he no longer needs to be confined.

If you want the barking to stop, use a no bark collar. Pretty simple if you ask me. =/

The house tethering thing doesn't sound convincing enough to me.
What is a no-bark collar? Sounds interesting.

No bark collar is a static shock ( like in the winter time when u scuff ya feet on the floor then touch someone.) that when a dog barks the collar senses both sound and vibration ( u wna make sure u get a good one. some only rely on vibration which can go off if say ur pup shakes their head and the collar slides.the good collars use both sound and vibration before it auto corrects) The feelin starts off as a vibration and if the dog continues to bark, it will cont to get stronger. my neighbor used one on his beagle and my girl friend just got one for her blue heeler mix. Both had good results. Thinking about gettin one for my Yorkie that fuker never shuts up.

Holy cow!! IDK how those prices translate to american dollar... but that shit looks pretty pricey LOL. once you see a brand thats a decent price and a decent collar... you could always check ebay. My girl friend paid $30 for one... and $80 for the other... she returned the $30 one and kept the $80 one. Because it ONLY auto corrected on both sound and vibration... not just vibration. Good luck!

    The translation is basically that

1.00 USD
    =
    9.99542 ZAR

So divide our prices by 10 to get the approximate dollar value.
