How does it NOT help your dog? It seems neutral territory for me.

I assume you are referring to me? How is it a shit move? In all honesty, it doesn't. I guess if at all, in the show ring. It shouldn't matter to you how it helps my dog.

It doesn't help or hurt the dog in anyway. It doesn't help or hurt the breed in anyway. It simply once again comes down to personal preference. Its simply a personal opinion.

OP: I'm so sorry your thread got sidetracked. I'd say this is a really good and helpful answer. Again it all comes down to personal preference. And ofcourse finding a good qualified vet to do the procedure.

    Good luck

necessity? there is no necessity. HOWEVER if you want to show a dog in AKC or UKC conformation, your best bet is cropping. especially as a newbie.

and yes, people prefer the look, and fortunately in this country. we have the choice to do what we wish with our dogs regarding cropping and docking

whats not true? the fact that there isn't a necessity? I'm pretty sure no one here is under the illusion that it is

I hope the original poster has gotten the information they started the post for. This has gotten off topic and is turning into a debate that is starting to get ugly.
