Sudden lack of stamina

My 15 month old dog has had a distinct lack of stamina for the last couple of weeks. He has always been walked about 3 miles a day and always wanted to go out, until recently. I have been playing ball with him and he seems to tire within 5 minutes and he pants very hard for a long time after. It has seemed to come on as the weather has really heated up into the 70's. I asked my vet when he had his annual booster and he didn't seem to concerned and it could be because he is having a little growth spurt but said to come back if it continues for another week.
Has anyone had any expierience of this.

70 deg F. is not hot at all. Did the vet check his heart carefully when he was in last? What color is your dogs gums when he is panting. Color of tongue and ears? If you have seen a big change like you described I would have him thoroughly examined.

He Had his heart checked at the vet and it seemed fine. What am I looking for in the colour of his gums, Tongue and ears?

He is back to his normal crazy self today, which is a big relief but I'm still taking him to the vet to make sure.

Great!! better safe than sorry, how much has your dog been exerting himself? I know that if we just walk it doesn't tire him much, but when i use another method to work him Flirt pole, or his ball etc he gets very tired very quickly, it could be a sudden change in routine that has him getting tired faster.

I have this experience a lot with our dogs! Some bullies tolerate heat better than others and to some bullies, 70 degrees is hot. If the vet can't hear anything hinky in his heart or lungs, then maybe his body just had to get acclimated to a slightly higher outside temp? I don't know where you live, but allergies can sometimes cause fatigue in dogs (like in humans), even if there are no obvious symptoms like itchiness.
