He is 10 lbs lighter than Tonka. His personality is very different from Tonka's. I think they would get along really well. My husband thinks it is too much since I have been so sick, recently.

How much does Tonka weigh? Roxy is 49lbs even with me giving her more food... had her fecal test done just to make sure she doesn't have worms and she's clear so I guess it's the extra physical activity we have been doing. With winter approaching though we won't be able to do a whole lot anymore so we shall see...
I worry about that too as well for myself for when the time comes to add to the family. I cannot really walk Roxy with another dog because I don't think I can control both dogs on leash. I worry about how I would properly exercise 2-3 dogs. That means I would need at least 3-4 hours a day dedicated to just working out on top of my own work outs. How does everyone else do it I wonder...

@Nat Ursula i hope it goes well and he's a good fit for you guys.
@roxy, I can't believe that's all she weighs. Pictures really do make the look so much bigger then they are. Rocco was 46 pounds three weeks ago and he probably only comes up to her knees lol.

I feel you on this: my 2 are pretty good on leash but I always worry that they would be too strong for me if they really wanted to pull/run. Alas, I walk them separately and, yes, it is really time consuming so not my favorite way to exercise them.

I hope it works out! Has Tonka ever had a doggie-housemate or would this be a first for her?

This would be her first housemate in our home. However, we always believed she came from a multiple dog home.

Tonka's ideal weight is 55 lbs. she was 57.5 at wr last appt. I've reduced her food again. She was mad at me for at least a day. She would just sit in front of the counter top for about an hour after she finished eating. She felt that missing 1/4 cup.

Awwww, Tonka. Her weight went back up? I remember she was looking thinner when she first started treatment for Valley Fever. Have you tried breaking up her feeding into 3x a day instead to help her feel satisfied?

Hi, it went up because I added the liver and eggs three times per week and did not reduce her kibble. We were doing nice walks for a while until my health went downhill.

Theo had a Foster and they bailed. He has been in jail since August.

I communicated with one of the trainers and she said he is literally bouncing off the walls. He is super high energy and is going bonkers being kenneled for so long.

He was a stray? They guess that he is 1 yr 9 mos old. My husband is asking if he could still become dog aggressive?

Hmmm, I think even if they get along great there is always that chance they could get into a brawl in the future or he could meet a dog he does not like. There is no way in knowing for sure if that day will come or not even if he is perfectly fine with the dogs right now. I also think most dogs do not handle the shelter lifestyle very well. A lot do not show their true colors until they are settled in and feeling comfortable or it could totally be the opposite and you will see a dog bouncing off the walls or being a bit aggressive when he is really not because of being over stressed. I've seen it go both ways from my experience so it's really hard to say...or he could just be exactly how he is now. What a shame about his foster family though. The important thing for your husband to decide is if you guys do get Theo and he does happen to become dog aggressive/selective is he okay with managing that...?

We both know we are not okay with managing that. My husband was just saying this morning that he does not know if it would be very easy to find another gentle bully breed like Tonka. She is so sweet.

They need a foster or adopter by the end of the business day.
