Where do you live Derek? Do you have HEB stores? I get Turkey Necks for $1.60/lb.

I went to bj's wholesale today also surprisingly they didn't have much. I was hoping for big bags of chick 1/4's and shit like that. They had thighs and split breast for decent prices but nothing great. That might be one of those places you have to keep checking what they have.

Wow twadej that place is great. Even if there are slightly better prices out there you can get pretty much everything you need there. I like that you can get small quantities to try them out. That place is probably 40 mins from me. Did you check it out. What do you think of the prices. I'll probably get most of that stuff next to me to try it and if it works go grab a case of a few things and be set for a bit. Thanks

I heard that if you are concerned about him eating too fast that you can hold the chicken leg or thigh and have him eat while you hold it. I'm not surecif that would work or not.

My free freezer I had lined up got delayed, picking it up tomorrow. I talked to the woman from the place you posted she was very helpful. Heading over there either one night this week orSaturday morning. I wasn't in a huge rush to start and honestly I'm a little nervous to start. She suggested what to buy for the first few weeks and she seems pretty knowledgeable. I think I should be up and running within another week.

I also got a line on a butcher for a local market basket, looking forward to checking that out. I e been just trying to read up on everything I can find. At this point it's all either repetitive or contradictory. I think we'll just ease into it and see how it goes.

    Why are you so hesitant?

Maybe you should give him a start up menu for 1-2 weeks?

I don't have a real reason, I just wanted to read up as much as I can and make sure it's a good fit for us. I also wanted to have a few leads on meat before I jumped right in. Wade if you don't mind me asking what do you spend a week/ month on your three. I feel like I can do this cheaper than kibble.

Remember Derek that I have 4 dogs to feed with a combined weight of 300 pounds. I am fortunate that I do not have to keep track of costs. Blue ate an entire chicken this morning.

Yeah I know you feed a few, I was just curious.

I would guess it is equivalent to premium kibble

Tell him exactly what to feed each day for a week or two. I didn't feel like I knew what I was doing.

Derek, start with only chicken quarters for the first week. Then add additional meats slowly - turkey, then beef, etc. Around week 3 introduce offal, tripe, chicken feet, eggs with shells, sardines, etc.
