the build of an irish staff is taller with longer legs. you do get long legged english staffys but this is thought to be due to irish bloodlines somewhere back along the line. all staffs originated from the same lines but in ireland the larger dogs with longer legs were prefered and these dogs where the ones bred from whereas in england people seem to favour the smaller short legged staffs. as a result this type of staff is now the so called 'english' staff

so why haven't people i know in Ireland & USA ever heard of this breed, when they have been around pitbull & staffy kc shows & non kc shows most of there life?

the irish staffy has only come around in the last 17 years when the uk & a few other countries banned them,

dont got me wrong i dont have a problem with pitbull i would love have one, i just dont like wrong information given to the joe public

dogbreedinfo.com is NOT a reliable source for good information. Just as an example, they have AmStaffs listed in the mastiff group.
