He lets his dogs run loose even though we purchased and constructed a kennel and fenced his yard. His dog was shot due to roaming loose. Do you think he listens to us about health concerns with his dog? He's already chomping at the bit to get the dog out of the house and start "working off his Vet bills" (studding him out.) You'd be surprised the number of people in his area that would pay him to breed his male German Shepherd to his female just because it's an intact male German Shepherd.

As for other breeding comments, I personally love this newest trend of "comes from champion bloodlines" meaning somewhere down the line there is a dog that showed at some point. It could be ten generations back, but by God....these dogs have "champion bloodlines."

I hope Dashy makes it. :(
On a related note, we had a disturbing story yesterday. Some guy had these two dogs (a yorkie and a dachshund I think, can't remember). Anyway, he "accidentally" let them get together and they bred and had a couple puppies. It seems he kept one of the puppies. Come to find out, he came home the other day and found them tied ("but I kept them separated!") My manager/receptionist convinced him to come in and do a spay/abort since he just found out they're full term. He might not show up though because his 'kids need to see the miracle of birth'. In summary- a father/daughter mixed breed breeding, with the daughter being probably less than a year old just so his kids can witness something they can google and watch on youtube.

Shit like that pisses me off. I hope he came in today, I'll find out tonight.

Glad to see she is doing better. Forgive me if I missed this, but did the guy sign her over? She looks much better, has some life in her eyes now.

  12. Yes, after the vet worked so hard to save her, he said he could not bring her inside to recover and follow the post op. He surrendered her to Atlanta Bully Rescue and she is in a foster home with previous adopters.

I completely agree! When my husband and I were thinking about getting a dog he wanted some ugly friggin' Am. Bully from a BYB. I said absolutely not would I support a BYB and the only way we would get a dog would be through our local shelter. Low and behold we went to the shelter on a whim and ended up with Jackson. Granted Jack had his own set of problems; he was approx. 4 months and 10 pounds, malnutritioned, had practically no fur and bite marks all over his head and body (thinking maybe he escaped a dog fighting house?) and then he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and we had to undergo FHO hip surgery. Through all we went through with him I would have done it all again because I love my dog! I'm convinced he loves us more for saving him. My husband said he'll >never< buy a dog again after seeing all the pups at the shelter and experienceing the love Jackson has to offer.

    poor girl :(

you'd think people would realize the risks of putting such a large male on a female... if you don't.. well that says enough about how smart one is.. sadly, it's the dogs that pay the price..

I hope she makes a quick recovery.. :(

God Bless people who can do rescue work ...I could not as I would be in jail for assault and battery when I came into contact with such a moron who owned this poor dog Dashy...I will keep her in my prayers and hope she recovers fully and will find a forever home with someone who will love and care for her the way a dog should be ....This idiot should be banned from ever even owning another dog ...I would report him to the authorities for animal abuse ....
