    (As told by Snakeman)

Snakeman's Champion Rush was born December 31, 1982, into a litter that proved outstanding; in fact the worst dog in the litter proved to be dead game. Ch Rush was sired by the infamous GR CH Pedro ROM, who needs no introduction. CH Rush was out of my Dynamite bitch, a little buckskin dog that was as games as they come from Rick Sorrels and her breeding was basically Maurice Carver's bloodlines. CH. Rush was a real nut case; he would literally spend hours chasing his tail, and occasionally caught it. He was for sure a fight crazy little dog! He was bat eared, red nosed, gold eyes, and was actually blond in color. When he sat on his house he looked like a real life gargoyle, evil in every aspect. Not a lout of mouth, some ability, but GAME TO THE CORE.

Rush's first match was into Ron Moore's Castro, the ref was Jim Woods, at 29 pounds. This was on that came down to conditioning and heart and Ch. Rush proved to have more of both. He fought a long 1:17 also winning Gamest in Show in February 1984.

His second match was into Carolina Ron's Xerox, ref was Copeland Steele, at 28 pounds. Rush pretty much had his way in this one and did the job at :44 in July 1984.

His third match was into Steve Poole's Trouble dog, who was a hardmouthed little Eli dog that had won a couple also. This match was at 271/2 pounds in December 1984. Trouble did most of the pushing and did a good job for about 45 minutes the he started giving out of gas. Rush got his second wind and stopped his opponent at 1:22 making Champion Rush;s third big win.

The fourth match was against the team of Larry Conrad and Bob Taylor. They used a dog that was reputed to bite one's legs off. His name was Rowdy and that he was! He drove most of the time asfter the legs or chest, whereas Ch Rush just chewed the ear, head and muzzle until it was as big as a bucket. It was very hot the day of this one and the fight drug out for 2:10 in June 1985 at 27 pounds. Rowdy could not go; Ch Rush made a stumbling, crawling scratch to win and won Gamest in Show for the second time.

Champion Rush produced some good match dogs but was only bred to a few select bitches. He died while on the yard of Harold Sorrels as the result of a kennel fight. He was supposed to be coming home the next week when this freak accident occurred. I wish I could have bred him a few more times, but the times I did breed him he proved to produce a fair country Bulldog. Everyone that ever saw him liked him as he was friendly to folks, but hated all critters. He was basically a Carver bred dog when you look at his lineage, but I had the foresight to make the breeding, which proved once again to be the right decision. He was a great little dog, Champion Rush.
