I have a little chest freezer, I think it's 5 cu ft, my stand up is 10 I think, I got it used for really cheap and it's so much nicer to find stuff, only one I'm using right now

I bet you do, you have all your dogs on raw now don't you Kady? I'm feeding one dog, one cat and two ferrets out of mine and am not really stocked up on meat either.

I thought you had gotten a chest freezer Kady. I remember you were debating which to get

I bet it's nice to be able to easily find things in your GoingPostal. I just wish I had more space.

Nope, no chest freezer.. I weighed the pros & cons and decided on an upright. With the uprights, you can organize better & they take up less floor space (most of the time anyway). That and, I could picture myself falling into a chest freezer when I tried to get something out of it

In my case, I have storage above the freezer (you can kind of see it in the pic) so an upright wouldn't be the best idea because I'd lose THAT storage.

I'll be getting mine soon! I think it's a little 7 cu. chest - my friend bought it for us for Christmas and has a few more payments to make on it. We are moving into a small one bedroom apartment on Tuesday so we couldn't have anything big.

I thought we had one of these, but I guess not! So.. show us your freezer :)

This is mine as of today:

It's a 16.5cu. ft. upright. The side door is mostly all pre-packed meals. Top shelf is either deer, beef or pork. Second self down is mostly all deer, beef hearts on top. Third is almost all chicken quarters & turkey necks, but there's some beef liver behind everything. Then in the bottom there are a bunch of whole chickens, and other various boneless stuff.

..I need a bigger one LOL.

Oh and this is my inside "human" freezer. Our fridge is the kind with the double doors on top, then the pull out freezer on the bottom. Love it! I keep mostly Sako's meals in this one:

So his stuff goes in the top basket, and we still have the whole bottom level for our stuff. We don't eat much frozen food though, so it works out nicely!

that is the nice thing about stand up freezers, easier to see everything. We have a chest freezer and I have to take eeeeeeeeeverything out and put the new stuff on the bottom and the older stuff on the top

Yup that's one reason I got an upright. That and I imagined myself leaning over to look in a chest freezer and falling in

LMAO.....!! We had an upright and the damn thing would not seal so I thought next time a chest. Maaaaaaay go back to the upright.

    The standup 10 cubic feet
Beef and Pork in the top shelf
    Chicken in the middle
    Turkey in the lower
    Very bottom fish and duck
Door has CGH ?, rats, guinea pigs, quail, venison and I think more duck

Chest, 7 foot or maybe 5 not sure
Turkey necks at the bottom, plus 45 pounds of assorted rabbit (whole, skinned, pinkies, heads), the commercial my ferrets won't touch, and some hamburger, pizza and chicken for people

I just got a new freezer today! I had a four foot long chest freezer that died on me a few days ago. I lost about 50 lbs of turkey :( Saved my chicken necks/backs and mix with the winter cold though! Yay winter!

So it's completely empty, got to let it sit for 24 hours before plugging it in, but so the journey begins in restocking! While Roxy was sick I depleted all my hoard of meat in the freezer, 24 cubic feet of it. I was just feeding premade mix because it was easier for Roxy to eat... I don't really need this big of a freezer now with just Hades, but the price was right and who knows, maybe one day I'll get another dog, not anytime soon but this freezer should last years!

I should get a pic of my friends 7 footer chest freezer'S (yes she has TWO) and two four footers. They are packed to the brim! A raw feeders dream in there! I believe she had a whole lamb in one of them one time!

    Got it off Kijiji for $200. It's 3 years old. 41" X 36" X 22"

I don't know if you'll be able to see it, but there's a plastic tag still in the thing! Retails around $500.
