... He did have the dogs DNA tested to prove parentage.

THe whole idea of other breeds being used is another subject....if there is PROOF, PLEASE report it to UKC. They'll look into it...if there is no proof or at least evidence, what are they supposed to do?

YES, I understand that many think that AKCxUKC is a MIX. BUT, that practice predated the whole "bully" thing by generations!

I have no interest in registries. I just don't buy that those dogs are freak to freak bred pitterstaffs with no other breeds thrown in.

I think some are mixed -- the Shortie-bull looking things are obvious.

But many of those RE dogs are JUST overdone Pit Bulls, along with some dwarfism thrown in -- you want to look like a mixed breed overnight, throw in some chondrodysplasia.

Uhm... it's a very well known fact. The ADBA originally accepted his registration.(single)

As far as Pitterstaffs being mixed for a long time... that's irrelevant. They weren't doing that to create a new breed, they were breeding them to a different/new standard, they were limiting their gene pool to the few foundation dogs of the mix.

    (replying to you and Vader)

Shorty Bulls are indeed a mix. Different thing all together. There's this thing.. "Exotic" Bullies. Dogs like Miagi are included in this. They breed their dogs to Frenchies and try to create the freakiest looking dogs possible. But they're kicked out of the registry. They just keep breeding their own freaks for a ton of cash, unregistered, people don't care they still pay 5k+. That's where you get the REALLY freaky dogs. Other "Freaks" I've seen obvious cases of some form of Dwarfism(or as Sagebrush mentioned) and some are in the hands of idiot breeders who go "Whoa, I could make bank off this" so they continue to breed the health issue

Well, good -- there must have been some pretty good evidence they WERE a cross -- *I* see it -- someone else must have. Would be curious as to what went down there.....

As for Whopper, yeah, that was a known thing when Eddington DID that and is well-known today and ADBA has taken a lot of heat for it.

I'm still on the fence, but how long does it or should it take before a dog is recognized? I'm sure it has a long way to go to meet the AKC's standards. There are dogs that have been around a lot longer that are still not recognized. (The American Bulldog, for example) Will popularity of a particular breed play into the outcome?

The AKC will never recognize the AmBully ... not in the present incarnation with its plethora of classes and not in my life time. The AKC would recognize "Doodle" and "Boo" dogs first ... and figure the odds of that happening.

I'd rather the UKC accept the American Bully than the AKC. At least the UKC has put in efforts to discourage judges and entrants from favoring damaging traits.

I think if the AKC recognized the AmBully, it would meet a fate similar to the OEB.

    It's already THERE!

Pretty much this. If anything, it'll only worsen the prominent issues in that breed

They don't need any legitimacy, any encouragement to continue what they are doing. NO registry should officially recognize what is being done to dogs in the name of "bullies".

Some bullies done right are some bad ass dogs.

    Google that ish!!!!!!!

See, that right there is a big part of the problem in my mind -- that attitude.
