I have a grey and white pit boxer mix and I have tried out a lot of collars that would flaunt her stunning looks. Ive tried red and blue, but I think she looks better with no collar at all. is there a see through or chain collar that you have tried and liked for a dog like mine? heres some pics. [IMG]

I have never seen clear, but I think any shade of purple or a light lavender would look good. Also just a plain black.

Yellow or orange would probably look best, as they are complementary to blue/purple.

I second purple here. A rich purple would look lovely.

    Or a nice leather.

I can see her with these collars as well! Had no idea so much can go with her colors

Really missed on the purple! I'm gonna try all these. Now to find a store with a whole bunch of collar selections...

Your dog looks similar to mine, so I shall seek this one out too! Does anybody take off their collar while they're at home? Seems like a good idea if she looks good that way

IME, it's nearly impossible to find retail stores that carry anything of real quality suited for strong dogs.

Better to search online. We can give you a million and one good sites of you're interested.

Of course! That would be best. I've had collars snap because Lacey is so strong.

If you just want to try different colors without spending the bank ...

Their collars are sturdy, durable and the red I've had for 4-5 years still looks red ... not faded to pink or anything, so they hold their color.

Hahaha! I was just waiting for someone to mention that to the OP! (You'll find a lot of people on here that have collar obsessions) Just give it a few minutes and I'm sure you will be bombarded with web sites! :-)

Never knew people had cared for how their collars look on their dogs as I do! I'm excited to see all the options :D

I use an inch and half (1 1/2") width for my dogs. I'll let the ladies decide on color for your girl :)

I have the blue and the black in 1.5 and 2 inches from BSC.

Stillwater kennel supply makes some of the best products out there.

If you're willing to wait a bit and spend a little more, Blocky Dogs.

People here swear by Ella's Lead. Try Paco too. And Collarmania.

I personally LOVE Etsy for finding great makers.

I also have 2 new custom, padded collars from Nizmos.

And I'm currently drooling over a harness from Foxmere Farms (thanks a lot Joe)

Mine don't wear collars at home because they've earned it. When they see a collar, they KNOW they're going some where and get greatly excited.

That said ... please think of the accidents that could happen without a collar to grab hold of as well as IF (goD forbid) your girl were to happen to get loose with no ID or no handy way of someone getting hold of her.

I think that a nice leather collar looks stunning on any dog. Personally I believe you can't get anything better than leather! I get all my leather collars from Ella's Lead, the only place I trust to make strong enough collars for Riddle.

My dogs go nekkid at home, but they're also not the type to ever dash out the door. We also have an enclosed porch with a baby gate set up so if they DID door dash, they'd be contained. Otherwise they would probably wear collars in the house.
