I had this same question and i asked someone who was rehoming there pit bull and they told me that the rehoming fees are mostly for the dogs safety. Some people think that If you pay a certain amount of money on an animal you might not want to bring harm to the dog. I'm not sure if that us for everyone but that kinda makes sense to me.

Keep in mind, a tweaker who can get anything for free will try to make a buck to support their habits. I've had 70lb delivery truck batteries stolen for a $5 core charge. Can you imagine a weak ass meth head totin that around on a bicycle for $5? That's got to be a scene.

It's not a fee it's a sale. Fees are attached to a sale. Call it what it is. If you can't look at a crack head and know it's a crack head they would pay anyway. They know the value and don't mind turning a buck on the street. Not a valid argument in my mind.

  8. I completely agree. I have 3 rescues, 2 from a rescue group and while one is most likely purebred the other definitely isn't, I paid almost 300 each for them, and it's purely a way of making sure you can afford to have a pet. And recouping some of the money they have in them, neuter, shots, training classes etc. That makes sense to me.
