he calls them american bullys because he recognizes that although from some of the same bloodlines he bred them away from the original standard thus american bully, its the same thing that happened with amstaffs, just nobody wants to admit it. like I said i know shady people have brought mastiffs or canecorso or presa blood in no doubt, but the honest breeders like dave who worked hard in the begining to do things right dont deserve all the accusations, Ill even go so far as to say that the majority (sad but true) of bully breeders have no business even breeding dogs, they have no idea what a true working dog is and arent concerned about much more than what they can get for them. any working breed should be proportionate straight legged deep chested but not over sprung etc. look at huskys, bred to pull, their only purpose, there is no way they could do that job with bowed legs and turned ankles, same with pits/bullys.... look I was only defending dave to what he has actually printed not what someone took from context and twisted. as far as blue paul I would say that Im positive but I cant find the webpage where I found that little gem of info so I cant prove it,(im writing this in after the fact: you might be right about bluepaul, im not positive what they called the line like I said earlier it just rang a bell for some reason) but of course it was possible because nobody bred for any color like I said the only color that mattered was winning. (main colors for certain bloodlines came about through line and inbreeding within the same family of dogs) back then the dogs were still just developing down from the barbaranter dogs (many consider them to be direct decendents of olde english bulldogs) being crossbred with different terrier breeds and everyone had a different idea of what a bull n terrier should be, it took a long time before the apbt actually existed on paper, since then many bloodlines have been lost or almost lost and brought back many outcrossed with other lines and tons of paperhanging to pretend that never happend (so they could still claim 100% whatever) and its true that at one point blue was actually avoided because of skin problems and allergys, and although Ive heard those problems are still prevalent in blue dogs today (info that I read, disclaimers etc.) ive never experienced any problems, and Ive never talked to anyone whose had anything worse than allergies that the dog eventually outgrew, im not saying I dont beleive it, I do, I just wonder if it wasnt more of a problem with a small number of blue dogs back then (with an even smaller number to compare them to) that made breeders shy away from them.

oh yeah, dave didnt really come up with the name american bully either, it was just slang that started at the dog shows and it stuck

Dave did create that name. We were home debating what to call "the american bully" I do agree though it caught on quick in the bully world and people used it as soon as they heard it :)
Did anyone attend the RE 20th anniversary show?

Technically, all dogs of any breed pick up mange mites right at birth. No breeds are "born with mange" but all dog of all breeds get mange mites upon birth.

Some dogs are born with a weaker immune system, which is what causes the mange reactions we see in some dogs. All dogs have mange mites, not all dogs have a reaction to them.

This is in response to anyone that was arguing individual pit bull type breeds and BSL.

It really doesn't matter what exact pit bull type you call your dog, not in regards to BSL. Most BSL is worded to include American pit bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, staffordshire bull terrier, American bulldog, any mix including any of the breeds listed above, and any dog that fits the physical characteristics of a pit bull type dog.

Even if a bite were reported as an American Bully, or American bulldog, or staffy mix, or whatever, it all goes towards BSL targeting "pit bull type" dogs.

A bite reported as an Ambully threatens BSL on all bully breeds just as much as bite reported as an APBT...because BSL targets ALL "pit bull type" dogs, not just the APBT.

the bsl law we have here is any american pit bull terrier that fits AKC standard or any AmStaff that fits AKC standard has to be microchipped, s/n unless shown, 100$ a year to registered with the city, muzzled at all times when out of the house even in an outside kennel, any puppies born within city limits have to be handed over to be PTS, so figure that one out ours only suggest two types. although i have to admitt it was pretty funny when the ACO came knocking on my door for my American bulldogs city registration lol. but didnt say shit about the lil bolio bitch running around his feet lmao

I would have to agree with you on that, Dave says it took him 7yrs of select breeding to get it right, and Knuckles I think was the first and Cairo(Cairo wold of been 18yrs, but got out the pin never to be seen again.) These Dumb F***Ks are breed RE dogs with all kind of BS and those pics up top is what u get. When People see those Pictures they think that is a how a bully suppose to look like and its not, now they just added the XL XXL pocket, shorty. I have Classic/Standard myself unpapers but If I had to guess she is apbt/staffy like Dave intended them to be.
