Rash on Roms belly

Romulus

Puppy
Hey guys. Rom has had a rash on his belly for a few weeks now. It seemed to get better when the weather cooled down. But now its getting bad again.
Its from about the inside of his back legs, to the inside of his front legs. He doesnt seem to bothered by it. He must scratch it when im not around though, cause he has done some damage to one of his nipples. I have taken photos, but cant find the usb cord for my camera. Ill post pics as soon as I find it.
I have a vet visit tomorrow, but im not sure he is familiar with the common problems with BTs.
He doesnt really have fleas. I mean, he has one or 2 on him, but they just havent died from the flea treatment yet.
Could it be from the grass rubbing on his belly when hes playing?

Thanks for any help guys :)

Could be a grass allergy, or if you put any deodorizers on your carpet, he could be allergic to that.

At the very back of my yard, there is a section I though was closed off. It has long grass, but the little bugger has forced his way through the fence and has been romping through the grass. It looks like a bloody herd of cows has gone through it!! its almost completely flattened. I have been spraying that section with chemicals to get it all cleaned up ( previous house owners left it in a mess ) Anyway, I re-enforced the fencing. So hopefuly it will solve the problem.

yea probably an allergy from that stuff. but bull terriers are known for skin problems, allergies and to not be very tolerant to a lot of things that can affect their skin. keep an eye on it.

Rash

It does look more like something has irritated the skin by touching it rather than an allergy:confused:

It does look similar to wee scald but that is only found in very young puppies:)

Keep an eye on it and try some Aloe Vera Gel, it is awesome for the skin:sonn_u11:

Well, the vet thinks its a contact reaction, because of its possition. But where he can get his back legs to scratch it, its cause an infection. So hes on some antibiotics for it. The rash its self is looking much better since I have kept him out of the grass.

So my boy is on the mend :)

my pitbull had just the same a few weeks ago!
right at the same spot!
I was thinking about getting to the vet, but I waited a week to see if anything would chance since it didn't seem to bother him or hurt him in any way. so I waited, and when I was about to go to the vet, it all just went away... :/ I never knew what caused this or what made it leave...
guess it's just an allergie :)

If you live in the Southern States, it could be Oak Pollen. (That nasty yellow green powdery stuff) My Pooh Bear would go lay in the sun flat on his belly and would get a rash just like this. It did not take long to break out. He was only out for a little while 4 or 5 times a day. Then it would clear up after the trees were done with their business. It was very itchy as I am sure this is. Hope this helps

Between now and the time you get him to a vet, you can give him Benadryl for the itchies. 1mg per pound of pup, so one 25 mg pill for a 25 lb pup. :)

The real problem with Roms rash was that he scratched to much and gave him self an infection. I think Roms is a grass allergy, bullies are known to have skin issues :(
Its sooo much better now though.

I had a mastiff that had red mange that looked a lot like that. We took him to the vet and they gave him cattle dewormer and it cleared up and never came back. When you looked at it it looked like ant bites or poison oak would look on us. I thought it was grass or maybe somthing he ate but the vet said red mange and he was right. He lived to be 12yrs.
