Not a warm and fuzzy or anything, but I've taken meticulous care of her for a year now. From a itty bitty .25" baby to a 7" beauty.

    Miranda as a little sling.

And at about 4", I didn't have many recent pics of her..

Even if it's not the same as losing a dog, cat, etc.. I put a ton of time and care into her, and she was my favorite of all I've owned.

She was just maturing, it really sucks.

My G. Rosea managed to get a hold of her and killed her without getting even a scratch herself.

    Sorry. RIP Miranda.
    What killed her?

Somebody put her into my adult G. Rosea's enclosure, probably hoping for a fight, and the Rosea killed her - I got home and found them that way. Which is surprising, the Rosie is very calm and passive. And not to mention about 2" smaller than the LP was..

Somebody from Arachnoboards has kindly offered me a juvenile LP, not as a replacement, but so I can raise another and hopefully s/he will have as much personality as mine did.

And I'm getting locks for their tanks, this was ridiculous.

Oh! So another spider killed her! Do you call em spiders?
What a drag, and who the fuck would do that to your pets!!????

Aw I'm sorry, Mel. I remember when you first got her (and the others) in the mail, you were so excited and she was your favorite!
I know that it is different than losing a cat or dog, but I've always had "little critters" as pets (Bettas and Dwarf Frogs specifically) and it sucks to lose them. :(
    RIP Miranda!

That was very kind of them. I love arachnids... scorpions are my favorite, but still, would you post some pictures in the creepy crawlies (I think it's called) board?

Yeah, this one -to be exact- killed her:

Sure Cliff, as soon as I figure out what's wrong with my camera (it's having issues uploading) I'll put the rest of my kids' pics up.

Yeah, it does really suck. Anyone who's raised itty bitty slings knows how much care goes into it, you can't help but get attached when you spend some much time taking care of them - I was totally bummed when I had to euthanize one of Miranda's siblings because he got stuck in a molt.

Why didn't I see this sooner? :( I'm so sorry... I know what it's like to raise tiny slings and then lose them too soon :( I can't believe someone violated your collection like that... I would be murdering household members.

What is your SN on AB? I haven't been on there in AGES... since I lost my collection :(

It was really not a good day, I'll tell you that. I put a lot into her.

My kids from Rodie arrived yesterday. KidS. He didn't just send me an LP, he sent two itty bitty B. Angustum slings with her.

Soon as I fix my camera I'll get some pics of the new guys..

Poisoned, what do your pet eat? My husband just asked and I'm not sure.

And good luck on the little newbies :)

Mostly crickets, but if they outgrow them I was going to move on to a large roach species.

Have you tried Dubia? I was NEVER able to keep crickets alive, and trying to buy crickets ranging from pinhead to dozens and dozens of large was annoying! lol Dubia are awesome... and I think they're really cute :) I had lats for awhile, too... they were a PAIN IN THE ASS!
