He look's more like Seal for me. Notice that the light can change this shade of color a lot, ranging from "apparently black" to "chocolate".
Also I can't notice that this dog is brindle by this picture. Anyway, nice dog!

My Grace looks black but out in the sun she's chocolate with a lot of red in her. I was surprised when I noticed as well. He's a good looking doggo though either way.

Yeah, she's a good looking pup. She was the only dark one in her litter so I was lucky I got in early. she looks pretty funny in that shot but I had to take it, she crawled in next to me on the couch to sleep and didn't move at all when I got up. Velvet looks like a cute pup as well.

She knows it as well. Particularly when I'm eating. She's 19 weeks on Tuesday so close enough to 5 months. I've never thought about cropping her ears, puppies ears look too hilarious when they run for me to want to. They spend a large amount of time folded over like in the second shot so I'm forever fixing them. Was Brooklyn cropped before you got her?

B was cropped by the breeder (yes, he did it himself, I asked him when we talked about rehoming her) and her crop is awful. It's uneven, right ear is shaped different than the left and too much bell, not to mention, the stitching he used was too thick and he didn't stitch well because she's got huge scars on her ears from where the stitches were. He really botched them up. IMHO.

WTF? You think you'd either see a vet or let the new owners handle it if they wanted it done. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Especially if you can't do it well. People sometimes......

Oh you have no idea. It was hard to talk to the dude and I did a lot of counting to 10 under my breath. He's completely a kennel blind BYB. But, I don't think the guy knew any better. So I was kind and said I prefer dogs from parents that have been OFA tested, etc., etc. I tried not to insult him, I don't think I did, but he didn't pick up on what I was laying down either. The only reason I asked to talk to him was because I thought it was the right thing to do, to let him know that one of his pups was being rehomed and to make sure if there was any contract in place, I was not in violation of it. However, there was no contract and he was surprised and really happy I reached out to him.
He asks me for updates frequently. When I told him that B got her STAR Puppy yesterday, he didn't even know what that was, and doesn't know what Rally O is either, which is the venue I want to take B down. I'm hoping to lead by example and keep in contact with him to hopefully spark his interest in titling his dogs. I know if I asked him to stop breeding, he'd just write me off and keep doing it. So, I rather try to change this guy's mind this way.
I may health test B (probably hips, if any), but that would be for my own person knowledge, not any other reason.
