Quality American Bully Breeder??

(for some reason I can't post in the American Bully section, so I guess I will ask here)

    Do they exist??

I've been looking for a reputable American Bully breeder for quite sometime, but I am having some trouble. I really admire the breed and have been interested in purchasing one for quite sometime. My problem however is that I can not find a single bully breeder that health tests their breeding dogs. As far as I am concerned, if you don't health test your dogs prior to breeding, then you're simply just a back yard breeder. And I refuse to support a backyard breeder.

Can anybody recommend a reputable American Bully breeder that DOES health testing??

    Thank you in advance!! :)

Yes, but they're much harder to find than just a "breeder" and you have to know where to find them.
Look into attending some UBKC events and talk to people there.
Also PM the admins (Shon or Vicki) for access to the American Bully section.

Health testing isn't needed for every breed, namely APBT's...
But good luck. I can only think of one reputable bully kennel off hand, but I don't think they're what you're looking for.

i would look for a breeder who feeds and breeds the classic style. sorry i cant point ya in the right direction, im not a bully guy

*send Vicki or Shon a PM asking for access to the Bully section.;)

Since when? APBT are prone to several genetic health issues, just because breeders refuse to test their dogs doesn't mean they don't have problems. Looked in the health section lately? I haven't seen a single Ambully breeder that health tests so good luck there.

I cant think of one quality AmBully breeder, none. I own a classic type of bully, she doesn't fit in with the bully or apbt crowds. Good strong dog, has more apbt than bully in her but a mutt none the less. But she unlike most AmBullies does have a purpose and why she is still hear being fed.She can handle a hog.

Since game dogs became popular in America. A game dog doesn't need to be health tested, an inferior animal or one with bad hips/joints/etc. would be culled, keeping the gene pool clean. Hell, even with show dogs, the act of putting one through a keep for conditioning would weed out any weak dogs...

I know of a couple that does health testing on there dogs and no they dont breed classics if a classic is what you are wonting just buy a amstaff.JMO But, I can also promise that a breeder that does that will charge atleast a 1000 and up. PM your location and I can get you contact with one close to you.

I cant think of any that I know who health test, the best bet would probably look into AmStaffs. More people who show AKC actually health test their dogs. Good luck and let us know if you find any!

IMO those kennels don't look all that great, nor do their dogs.

Thanks someone just sent me the links to both and I agree I am not very fond of the dogs. Valentine looks very long and not very classic, she looks between a standard and a classic. Gauge is a nice looking bully but I would not call him a classic. The only thing I see wrong with him is he is straight staffled but so is Poppa, I am seeing that a lot in AmBullies here lately and I am not a fan of York at all. And I hate the fact that they call them APBT....
