The all white one doing the 'humping' is the mother BT of the mostly brown BT... the other dog is a pit. And what is a BYB?

HAHA! I'm 2 for 2 on discussing shipping with breeders and they haven't the slightest idea. One comment was, "I don't even know how they do it. I take them the box and it flys on a smaller plane to Dallas before heading to its destination." Another was, 'Ohh my goodness, I hope not!" < ---- Needless to say, I hung up.

If a Mini is going to have 12 pups in her first litter and judging by the way he runs away from the camera, i have a feeling there might be hip problems.

Man, I could have sworn I saw male parts. I think it was just her hanging nipples, I wasn't looking too close. I assumed male since the tan/white was also mounting.

BYB - Backyard breeder. Basically anyone who breeds dogs for profit, or for no good reason, like to better the breed..

    *Edit
What breeders did you speak to? About the shipping. They dont' sound very educated..

A BYB means= Backyard breeder, a breeder whos only concern is making money or making 'cute puppies"
they rarely care much about hte well being of mom, dad or the puppies, they sinply want to breed.

take your time, like i said a bull Terrier is the LAST breed you wanna bring home on impulse!!
trust me on this one, i bought a BT pup from a not-so reputible breeder several years ago simply because they were close, and cheap and had very sweet temperd nice looking dogs. i ended up having to give my pup back by 4 months of age due to his severe human aggression.

then i was even more dumb and took a second pup from them (who is a love-and i dont regrete getting him) who suffers from skin issues, while pretty mild compared to most bullies, its a constant battle of keeping his dry skin hydrated, keeping him on an all raw meat diet, keeping his oil and fat intake balanced, keeping his neck and feet clean, not being able to wear a normal collar, but a special padded harness, ect

and his are very MILD compared to many others i have heard of. ive talke d to many owners who dogs feet are so bad from the constant itching they ended up having them put to sleep.

  6. I would never pay that much for an unregistered dog of unknown health lineage, especially of the Bull Terrier breed. This breed is prone to kidney, and heart problems and all breeding stock should be tested. No health guarantee or anything from this guy. It was not the best view but from the video it looks like he had an off gait when he was running. Could be nothing but could be hip issues too. Too many red flags for me.

Also, there is nothing wrong with shipping pups. If you're not fond of the plane thing, you can pay a reasonable rate for e licensed pet transporter to drive the pup. My Bull Terrier came to me from Idaho, and he was flown via American Airlines. He arrived safe and sound with no issues whatsoever.

I know some breeders out there can be frusterating, but there are a few breeders out there that are easier to work with. I'd go with a breeder that health t ests all of their stock, and has a health guarantee as well. Good luck in your journey.

Ok owning rotties is going to be of little help with bullies they are a lot more stubborn and hard headed dogs than rotties as well as a lot more energetic in they will run and run for no reason YouTube bully run to get an idea anything that gets in their way gets knocked over !! A lot of bull terriers end up in rescue as people impulse buy them and having owned dogs before think they will be ok with a bully but that's rarely the case and end up having to give them away as they are unable to cope with themAlso the byb says the parents are registered yet the puppy cannot be is highly dubious to me as there would be no reason I can think of why it cannot be registered you need to research the breed more and look for a reputable breeder that health tests and offeres a lifetime of help and adviseI had a change in circumstances and was no longer able to keep by staff luckily he was from a good breeder who took him back 6 years after I got him and found a good home for him

BTW, side note.. i did not get this bully and went with a different one. He is 10 weeks and so far, I am very pleased with him. I LOVE his personality and determination, already. Unfortunately for him, I am more determined and way more stubborn.

I am currently researching the raw diet. Just to understand it better.

I mean, you're a moderator and should lead by example. Let's all help make this place a welcoming environment.

A more appropriate response would have been, 'Congrats on your new pup!' maybe add an optional, 'Where did you decide to get him from?'

Well, let me be the first to sincerely tell you congratulations on your new pup. I know nothing about BT's but he certainty is a looker to me. I hope you will be happy with your new friend and I wish you nothing but many fun years to come!

  15. Congrats on the new puppy. Is it the one in your avatar? I like the reds.

So who did you end up choosing to aquire him from?

i might have said those things, had i not had this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, knowing that theres a very likely chance within the next 2 years this dog will end up in a shetler or rescue because you bought a pup on impulse blowing me and a few otehrs off because you didnt figure a BTs probalems could be so bad, or that BT could be so difficult to train/work with.

sorry if i seem rude-but i really think you have underesamated what it takes to not only raise this breed of dog-but to be able to keep your sanity while doing so
and i honestly cannot imagine you signed anytype of contracted from the breeder, nor seen any health test results done on both parents.

another red flag in my mind is-the fact that watching that vido of that other dog, you had NO problems about how that dog acted around those other dogs, thats a FIGHT waiting to happen! do you know how to work with a stubborn bull-headed dog to teach them doggy manners WITHOUT allowingo ther dogs to take control of situations?what would you do if this puppy begins showing the first symptoms of domineering behavior towards people?do you know if mom and dad had skin issues? did mom and dad have skin scrappings? how was mom and dads temperment towards kids or other dogs (outside the home) ? did you talk to previous buyers from this seller? did the breeder offer any advice in training, nutrition, ect? did this puppy come iwth a health certificate and proof of BAER hearing test done? what was the breeder feeding his/her dogs? was it a quality food or was it somthing like purina or eukanuba? had the puppies been well socielized with other dogs, cats, and kids?

so, your right i DO have an obligation as a Modoerater on this forum- to help others understand HOW IMPORTANT it is NOT to buy dogs on impulse from BYBs and alll the troubling issues that come along with it.
if you purchused your puppy from a good reputible breeder-good for you! im proud of you being a responsible dow owner and buyer and i appluad your effort in making a good decision, but i have to say i have my doubts-so please, prove me wrong and make me eat my own rudeness and words as i would be more then happy to

Have to agree, unless you've been around a lot of BT's most people arent ready for them. They are not like other dogs they are in their own league as they have a lot of hmm baggage I guess that comes with them.
I always try to steer people far away from them unless they have experience. It takes a certain type of person to enjoy this breed, there is a reason why they arent very common.

A co worker of mine just got one and I fear hes going to end up getting re homed. She's already complaining about him and he's just doing typical BT stuff, and she is also one who doesnt want to believe he has a chance at being dog aggressive.

Well, I would definitely advise against purchasing instead of rescuing. There is no reason for it. I see Bull Terriers constantly up for adoption.
