ok.. these two fiesty 4 week old male pit-pups are quite the character.. during feedings they jump on one another and seriously viciously growl and hold on to the neck.. I quickly correct them and then the other one will do it. I am going to need to feed them in separate dishes.. anyone else experience a tiny puppy fight?

This is my first and it was comical and scary at the same time as I know this is foreshadowing what is to come in the future. It's like two little gizmos turned gremlin.

I totally get the genetic bully trait and I most def. see it in these two during feed time .. so is this more common in other puppy breeds too? I'm more surrounded by pit-mixes these days that I don't know what other puppies are doing.. because this is my first batch of puppies to ever foster..
They have even growled and snapped at me..only during feed time.

All other times they are the sweetest babies.

First of all, are there pics of these nuggets floating around here that I missed? Oh me gosh, I want to see some puppy cuteness.
Second, feed em separately. Could be DA, could not, but to make sure everyone is eating and not stressed while eating, which could lead to problems later (aka resource guarding), feed em apart. I've never personally seen DA in pups that young, however, I've owned a pup that was pretty much full blown DA by 14 weeks, so it is not impossible.
Are you using rule of sevens with these guys? I'm on my way out to go lift, but I'll post the link when I get back.
Also, start now with being able to grab, pick up food bowl and place it back down.

I saw the link for the 7 steps and that all sounds like a great plan. They aren't timid at all and seem to be more curious than anything. They neighbors kids came over last night and handled them with excitement.. all went well there too. Also, their puppy aggression during feed time has dissipated. They are not biting or growling at me as I handle the food bowls. My guess is when they first arrived, they were starving and on survival mode.. therefore, instinctively lashing out at anything and anyone that came close to the bowl.. now they have full bellies and a comfortable place to sleep .. All is good in their world at the moment!!

Hello I have a young male lab mix and he definitely has food aggression, he eats super fast like someone’s going to take it. I just crate him while he eats and he’s so used it that when I make his food he sits in his crate and waits. But I cannot let him out until the other dog is done eating or he’ll go crazy trying to get to the other bowl. He will share toys and water but not kibble at all! I also found him as a stray when he was probably 15weeks old. But at 4 weeks old I would think it’s just puppy play
