    Hi guys
I own three Bully's, a female and two males. I'm looking to have puppies in the very near future.
To save money on vet bills i'm trying to find out the shot schedule and determine what shots i can give my puppies and adult dogs throughout their life span to keep them healthy.
I know a vet has to give them their rabies vaccine, correct?
I'm trying to do all i can to avoid the cost of vet fees being there will be puppies and 5 or more so i feel it would be more convenient and economical for me to just give their shots.
Thank you guys for taking the time to read my post and for your helpful information

    MLV = Modified live virus.
Can buy the vaccines online or at TSC.
I use Spectra 5way vaccines from TSC.

AGK and what does the spectra 5way cover and for how long and how often do they need it?
Thank you my friend for your interest in helping me. It's greatly appreciated.

    what about this
    • Solo-Jec® 5 offers puppies 5-way disease protection
    • Effective Parvovirus, Distemper and respiratory (CAV-2) protection
    • Intramuscular or subcutaneous administration
    • For use in puppies and dogs six weeks and older

Never used the brand but I'm sure it's your run of the mill DHLPP vaccine. 5 ways are going to cover Distemper, hepatitis, leptosporosis, parainfluenza and parvo virus.
If you have no experience injecting I'd stick to sub-q only. I know how to give intramuscular but wouldn't with a vaccine. On a 8 to 12 week old puppy, these vaccines come with huge bored needles, 18 or 20 ga. it's way excessive IMO for a pup. You just mix it, draw in in the syringe and stick em under the skin and move on to the next. It's pretty simple once you've done it. I recommend pulling the plunger of the syringe back a little before injecting to make sure your not in a vessel before you inject. You'll feel it slide right in between the skin layer and muscle. I'm sure there are youtube videos that can help you develop technique.

As far as how often that's debatable. I only vaccinate for DHLPP 3x as a pup at 8,12 and 16 weeks. I do a 1 year booster and the dog will never get that shot again. Rabies is every year or every 3 I believe now in some states. Parvo is your biggest enemy out of all of them with bully breeds.

So AGK what is the booster?
I have some 29 gauge 1/2", 1", 1 1/2" needles. But yea you have to load your syringe with the larger needle. I would use the 1/2" on a dog.
I can give shots and know how.
I shoot test myself.(not my dogs)
AGK i really appreciate your interest i'm just validating my thoughts here. But also i need this information. You guys been doing this longer than me.
I tried loading a profile pic but it keeps saying its too large.
    Thank you!!!!

The booster is simply to ensure immunity. Peace of mind.
The pictures file size has to be with in a certain range to upload it. Cell cams create pictures that are huge in file size.

I wouldn't go smaller than 22 ga or you'll be there all day depressing the plunger lol.
