The APBT is a promising dock diver and I may enroll her in a club this summer. I expect the Malinois puppy will surpass both adults in overall athleticism. He’s a natural and was swimming confidently at 3 months. The GSD will swim all day.

That is such good exercise. I wish I could have gotten Tonka to swim like that.

Tonka kept drinking the pool water while she was swimming. Eventually she got really sick and never wanted to go in again.

Man, you have a handful and a half there, don't you? x'D

I'd love to try dock diving with my girl, too, and man I've been wishing we had a pool (well, a real one, not the kiddie pool). I've been wondering lately if the people who own the other 40acres around our place would be willing to let us use the pond there every now and then.

I think you have a lot of people on her envious of your pool, haha.

I have been thinking of installing a pool. If I was guaranteed that my dogs would swim like that I would in a heartbeat!

Tonka wore a life vest. I would love to have a pool with a beach entry.

This was about 10 minutes into the session when I picked up my iPhone and started recording in one hand while holding the flirt pole in the other. Kind of manic, but they keep focus on the toy despite the distractions. The dogs give a good effort and get pretty winded. The Malinois is 6 months old. He does not get discouraged from getting dunked and knocked around a bit by the 2 adult females.

Thanks. It does. And easier on their joints than daily jumping and sprinting across ground for the ball. While not every dog will take to water, I believe its a good option for cardio conditioning, muscle toning, and strengthening connective tissue.
This pool session was also a bit of a gut check for the pup. Looks fun, but it gets pretty rough in there with the two adults amped in prey drive. I’ve been bit and scuffed up a few times. By next year the pup will be my top amphibian. I noticed his gills are starting to show.
