ok ok so there are no frogs...yet, but...my terriarium supplies finally came today and I spent all day setting up the living quarters...
sorry for all the glare the sun was beaming right at me, ill be able to get better pictures at night.

here's a look at the "whole" setup. its sparse looking now but the plants will (hopefully) fill in through the tank.

this is the "lemon button" fern

    the froggies hut

the Tillandsia capitata Peach is on the left and my Bromeliad is on the right

    here's my "suzi wong" fern

from right to left the two Gesneriads, a Peperomia, and the "lemon button" fern again

this is the "oak leaf creeping fig"

and the fuzzy vine in the back is a Microgramma

there are two more plants in there but they arnt mature yet. Now bring on the frogs!!!!:D

How weird is this: I have a current bet going that a poison dart frog is only poisonous because of its diet and the frogs at the zoo are NOT poisonous because they don't feed them the things that they get in the wild. TRUE or FALSE??? You are an expert (compared to me, at least lol) can you help me make $20 ??

its true!!! go to www.blackjungle.com and they have "top 10 reasons to own a PDF" and one of them being they are NOT poisonous in captivity... go make your $20 bucks!!!

I forgot to ask in my last post but...when are you getting the frogs?
  11. OMG!! I so want to set me up a vivarium to get several Poison Dart Frogs. Ever since I went to the zoo last year and saw thier new PDF set up, I was hooked! There is a guy that lives just off exit 1 in SC near Carowinds that breeds his own, and also does snakes.

wellget this... I killed all my plants, or at least sent them into severe shock... I got too excited and planted them too soon, i didnt wait for the silicone holding the background to cure all the way, which gave off a vinegar like odor, and killed my ferns and a couple others were badly damaged.... soooo the tank is plant free again! :D im such a dork... but the new plants will be here soon and I got the message that the frogs i want are in stock and i will prolly have them by the end of the week. The silicone is cured now but the damage has been done, at least i waited to get the frogs huh? but comming soon.....

That frog is beautiful!! I have a question? That lemon button fern.... I think I have that growing in a pot thing at home... I will take a pic of it.. but it looks just like yours.

Another question?? If what they eat in the wild makes them poisonous, what exactly is it that they eat that makes the poison?? And what are you going to feed them? I've never had PDF or any frogs, but those are really pretty! :D
