When Teddy plays tug he lies on his back and rolls like an alligator. Does anyone's dog do that too?

Jer grabs and rolls like that while Roxy drags him! Roxy used to roll like that too in the beginning when she first got home. She no longer rolls like that when we play tug I think it was done because she was being submissive? She used to also stop and let go really quick if I made any sudden movements but now I can only get her to let go with a command!! Jer frequently does it when playing tug with her but we rarely let them play tug because Roxy bullies him sometimes. He never rolls when he plays tug with humans only Roxy.

Nope, never had any rolling 'alligators' here, just pull-your-arm-sockets specialists.

Broly has done it since he was a puppy, he only does it in the house though, which is weird but he does do it, when outside, it's different, he usually plants his front paws firmly and begins to work, shake and tug. When he was a pup, we used to call him an alligator, he would roll around snapping so hard it would make that clacking sound.

They don't go to their backs but I'm pretty sure my boy Odio Puro annoys all of my neighbors when I let them tug against each other.

Father and son duking it out.

My dogs were so confused when they heard that? Teddy thought Tonka was crying and he went to give her a kiss. He didn't know what happened to her! Lol

I'm having a hard time getting Rocco into the spring pole. I can hold it in my hand and he'll tug like crazy as soon as I let go he gets weird about it and let's go. I made a cheap one out of 2x4's attached to my fence post with a bicycle inner tube just to see if he'd like it. Not so much yet.

Don't switch the bait or tease up yet Derek, stick with what he likes first get him used to it.

When playing tug....should I be concerned when my 11 month old pup doesnt bite the toy with her back portion of the jaw but rather with the front?

Try a more flexible bungee cord instead of an inner tube.
