If you have a photo that you would like others to critique, post it here.

If you do a critique of a photo, please be respectful. Don't say things like "your photo sucks!" and just leave it like that. Tell why you don't like it, or why you do like it. Be fair and honest. Criteques are a great way to learn what makes an image work.

    I'll start!

this is an image that I was really not sure I liked. I posted it up anyway but would be interested on hearing what people like or dislike about it.

feel free to "RIA" (Rip It Apart)

This was taken without a tripod using my Sigma 105mm F2.8 macro lense, if I remember correctly.

I would like to critique your photo (mark-60), but I'll be honest and just say that I don't really know that much about composition, exposure, or anything else of the sort that have to do with nice digital cameras. I pretty much just go by my eyesight for my own photos, and I'll just do the same for yours I suppose

First off, I think its a great capture. One of my biggest pet peeves (for my own photos, not really for others) is when my subject is blurry. I like the contrast in yours, the dog really pops out due to the bright white and red, but he is slightly out of focus. I'm not sure if there are ways to fix that?

Here is one that I took today.

I just wish that dang twig wasn't in front of your dog's face. :)

What if you cropped the image down to just the top 1/3? It might make a nice nature photo. ;)

    Me next!

I like yours, Mark, however, I think the weeds that are up close are a bit distracting. Otherwise, an outstanding picture.

I agree with this - and even if you just reduced the size and brought the top down some - it would bring the dog more into the focal point (and be less distracting at the top).

I like this shot, but the one thing I don't care for is the fact that it's centered directly in the middle of the frame. Other than that it looks good. Clean background, solid subject.

I like this photo, except for that damn tree growing out from his head. Also, it may benifit from being cropped a little tighter?

Schwe, I think a flash may have lightened up the darkness in the center of the flowers, and your background could be edited.

This looks a little underexposed (dark) to me. That's probably because the camera saw that bright window in the background. The background is a little disgracting. to bright and to busy. for my taste.

That is better! Now try cropping it a little and see what happens?

Mark-I really like you pic...I think the only thing I find a little off would be it feels tall , my eyes go to the top and lose the dog a little

(declaimer..I know little to nothing about professional photography:lol:)

    Here is one of mine

I had a hard time picking one picture, so I picked 2 of my favorites.

This one was taken at a spot called "Blowhole" on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I think it's my favorite photo from the entire trip.

This picture was taken just minutes before sunset on a boat off Waikiki Beach, Oahu, Hawaii.

Pugmom, I like the picture, my only complaint would be that it is too dark. Maybe try fiddling with the exposure?

Thanks! I used photoshop to take the tree out. :)

I really like this shot. If I could change one thing, I would have gotten his entire chin in the shot. I don't know that it would have helped the image but I woudn't mind seeing what it would look like that way.

I like the first one. but it seems to "loose" to me. It could be cropped somehow? Not really sure.

The second image is great! If I could change one thing it would be to offset the sun to the right or left a little to follow the "rule of thirds". I wouldn't be ashamed to hang that one on my wall the way it is though.
