Opinions on this camera? Canon EOS 7D SLR

IMO, at this point your lens investment is more critical than the camera. Exactly what type of work are you going to be doing? It will have some influence on whether you should be considering zoom or prime lenses. If you're talking about roughly a $4500 investment, does that include accessories? A fast memory card, solid tripod and a decent flash can easily eat up $500.

I do have a few really fast memory cards and I just recently bought a new tripod and photo editing (lightroom and photoshop elements)

The Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 G lens tends to be cooler so you'll need to PP for skin-tone

If you're looking at Canon, there are lots of good deals on used gear at Canon Digital Photography Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Just do your research and make sure you are dealing with a reputable/trustworthy member.

Another point to consider when it comes to lenses: if you're thinking of starting out with crop and possibly upgrading to full frame down the road it would be good to make sure any lens you buy is full frame compatible.
