Lee was Butch's dog a wolf? My memory is getting bad..I can barely remember it but seems like they only showed that dog in just a couple episodes.

That movie was White Fang, I believe. Bet those jokers had their hands full filming some of the fight shots.

I didn't know a movie about dog fighting was ever made. Much less done in 2008. Figure that.

id love to see movies made about some of the old timers. the stories ive been told about Tudor, his would be about as good as it gets.

There is a mexican movie called Amores Perros (Dog Bites or Doggy Love). I think the american remake was called Crash, which doesn't compare to the original movie. One of the three stories in the movie is about dog fighting in mexico. The movie is circa 2000.

The yearling. One of my favorite movies and back then a dog could be a dog!

Yes, the 1946 version with Gregory Peck. I picked up a few copies on Amazon for $9 each...

There is a great bear-hunt scene that is very realistic (and I think much of the footage IS real) which shows what work the breed was traditionally used for on the frontier.

And it's just a darn good movie all the way around!

my favorite part of the movie is the response of one of white fangs handlers...it was something like...."thats a bulldog, them things are killers"...meanwhile the owner of WF arrogantly asks the bulldog owner "wheres the rest of your dog" :D

What about the opening scene in "Death Hunt" with Charles Bronsen and Lee Marvin, great scene Pit vs Wolf.
